New prediction: team plays HANGRY, defies all odds, wins by 17. Kizer accounts for 6 TDs, post game gives an interview where he calls out the playoff committee. McCaffrey held well below his rushing average, Nick Coleman 2 INTs as Hogan throws at him. Alize Jones scores his first TD.

ESPN narrative after the game is how Stanford "was clearly overrated" and the committee drops them out of the top 20.

35-24, Stanford controls the game -- ND never feels like they are within striking distance.

Hope I'm wrong.

You described the last two games in Palo Alto, so you may be right:

2013: Stanford races out to 21-6 lead
2011: Stanford races out to 21-0 lead

That is my biggest fear: the awful scenario of "receive the opening kickoff, go 3 and out, give up a TD, then play catchup all game"

*Stanford scored the first touchdown of the game in:
2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 (last 6 years)

I don't think they have a great secondary. If the OL gives Kizer some time, we could get off to a wick start if Fuller, Brown and Hunter are locked in. I think this could be a shoot out.

I'm not that frightened by Stanford. I think ND jumps out to an early lead on a Fuller bomb. Game goes back and forth most of the way, but never feels like it's in jeopardy. Yoon nails a long FG late in the 4th to put ND up 2 scores and seal the game.

ND 27 Stanford 17

Then everyone will come back to the post game thread and complain about missed opportunities, and how this win should have looked more impressive. Many posters will again try and rationalize how Oklahoma will certainly be jumping us this week!

Listen to this dummy!

It's getting worse. Everyone at SI is picking Ole Miss to win the ND-Stanford game Saturday:

*They obviously screwed up their graphics, and everyone on their panel picked Stanford.

I really hope the team knows everyone picks them to lose.

I think BK will make it a point to tell them, and throw in a "I don't think you can win this game either. I'm just here so they don't fine me."
