as their twelfth member. If nothing else makes the 2010 schedule look a little better.

Well this should be the last major move in conference realignment.

The PAC-10 now has their 12th team.
The BIG-10 also has 12 teams.
The Big-12 has 10 teams. (And seems to be content even though they'll lose their conference championship game)

So Notre Dame will remain independent.

I know I was pushing Notre Dame to join the Big-10, but that's because it was really looking like the PAC-10 was going to have 16 teams and I figured the Big-10 would follow suit.

I'm glad to see ND in this position and I'm sure Jack Swarbrick is even more happy.

It'll be interesting to see if Utah, Colorado, Nebraska and co. will get a slight boast in recruiting form all this... what's new and in style can really sell to young kids...

Well Nebraska already was in the Big-12 and had some legit recruits, but now they'll probably get the same caliber of players just more from the Mid-west.

Colorado went from a small school in the Big-12 to a small school in the Pac-10, so they'll probably get similar recruits.

Utah in my opinion will benefit the most, because I feel like they can actually be one of the best teams in the PAC-10 eventually and if they do prove to still be good in the PAC-10, then recruits should start pouring in.

But these are just my opinions, I'm no recruiting expert.

Colorado is no small fish... they are big time cfb... this is a team that played for the Big 12 title how many times???... has a National Title... they are a train wreck right now... but there is no way they stay as such... if I were to rate the schools I'd give Colorado a solid 7 out of 10 historically... that's where they should be most years...

they'll win the Pac 10 at least once within 15-20 years.

theres noise in the south about ark going to big 12. that would mean they would add another team to get that champ. game back

then wtf would the SEC do????

they might as well add Georgia Southern since every single SEC team currently has them on the out conference schedule already... or maybe Troy... they like playing them too..

WSU had more PAC 10 Titles than CU has Big 12 Titles. Yes CU played for the Big 12 Title a couple of times and usually ended up with a 5 loss season. That's like the ACC bragging about their record getting into BCS games.

CU is no small fish ... but they smell like a rotten one. Their successes were usually followed by NCAA investigations, probation, scadals. McCartney, Neuhiesel, Barnett. Dare we mention the recruiting sex scandal were the University considered shutting down the program. Hmmm, no wonder they're joining Southern Cal in the Pac 10 they have all the prerequisites.

Recruiting wise instead of getting UTX's, OU's, and NU's leftovers now they'll be getting Southern Cal's, UCLA's, and Cal's left overs.

Colorado is a nice place tho. I can see them improving if they can attract good recruits. My friend plays safety for colorado and he said he enjoys it up there.

There is actually an article right now on kusports.com calling for Arkansas and ND to join the Big 12 (10) to put it back at 12...Just some writer dreaming.

I'm simply stating that CU is not some "small school from the Big 12", which they are not

and please tell me you didn't just use a comparison that stated:

team A (who has been their conference since 1917) has more titles within that conference than
team B (who has only been in theirs since 1996)... so team A>> team B

please tell me that was just a poor reach at perspective and not an actual case...

infractions???... I said nothing of that... I agree, but if that were to matter in a schools long reaching power then SC would have ZERO history worth mentioning and would not be a power in that conference... no???

Colorado will do well in the Pac 10 in the long run... Cal??? imo they are a coach... not a long term Pac 10 power.

Big 12!? That just doesn't make sense. If Chewbacca lives on a planet called Endor with a bunch of 2 ft tall Ewoks, then that does not make senth. Why would an 8ft tall Wookie live on Endor? Ergo, ND to the Big 12 doesn't make senth either.

Haha maybe USC will use it in their appeal case. I have no doubt it would eliminate all sanctions.

In other words, you overreacted and thought the sky was falling. In your eyes ND needed to strike now and not be left out in the cold. Man, signs of a small leak we all know whose the first to jump ship.. :pityno:

I said IF there will be "super conferences" then Notre Dame must join... I never wanted ND to jump the gun. I wanted them to be the 16th member of the Big-10.

If my opinion came off any different, I apologize and must have used poor word choice.

I rather remain independent, I was just nervous there would be a Pac-16 and a Big-16 meaning ND would likely lose some traditional rivalries.

I'm glad ND is independent, except an additional benefit of being in the Big-10 could have been the Big-10 officials wouldn't SCREW US OVER!!

There will be super conferences just not now. Maybe later down the line..

I'm still pro-conference and I always will be. Besides, by 2015 there will be superconferences. The Big 12 (-2) is not surviving.
