I wrote this in another thread, but I thought it needed it's own thread. Mods, feel free to erase if you think it's redundant.

For those of you who don't follow recruiting, let me tell you what a true ass-hat this clown Meyer really is (this is common knowledge for many of you):

1. He told Jevon Snead, a highly touted QB now at Ole Miss, that he was the only QB he would recruit. Snead committed to FL, his favorite school, and couldn't be more excited. Then he saw the OTL special on ESPN about Tim Tebow, and he saw Urban Liar and another FL coach in the stands, and his heart skipped a beat. He was shocked. He called his h.s. coach, and they decided to confront Liar. Liar told them that they were recruiting Tebow as a LB. The h.s. coach laughed at that, knowing what complete B.S. that was, and they decommitted from FL.

2. Our very own Ian Williams was recruited by FL early in the process, and he was excited to go there. In fact, for 6 months he was telling his friends and family that he was heavily leaning towards FL. Then the love from FL suddenly stopped, as FL started getting love from higher ranked players. He finally texted FL, and they told him that they were getting too full and couldn't take any more commits at that time. Two days later, a D-linemen from CA committed to FL. Williams was crushed, understandably.

3. From yardbarker.com:

Florida was ready to take all-star corner Patrick Johnson with what they thought was a bogus test score, but he committed to LSU. How did Florida respond? "Florida flagged my scores," Johnson said. "They called the compliance office." "I'm not upset," Johnson said. "Florida made an issue about the ACT score. They're cowards. They had to go behind my back.

They were about to take the recruit, and when they couldn't get him they squealed like bitches (and snitches).

4. This from a Michigan site on the recruitment of Daryl Stonum:

The University of Florida stayed on the four star pass-catcher well all the way through. Things crescendoed recently after a conversation with Urban Meyer. According to Stonum, Meyer had a compelling reason why he should become a Gator. "He told me that he talked to Coach Carr and Coach Soup and that they told him that I would be a much better fit in the Florida offense than I would be in the one at Michigan," Stonum recalled. "I thought, wow, my coaches are selling me out? I confronted them about it. I asked Coach Carr and Coach Soup about it, and they said they never talked to that guy and that there was no way they ever said anything like that and that they think I should be a Wolverine. I believed them. Right then, I knew just how Florida rolled."

5. Urban Liar had Justin Trattou, an ND commit, lie to everyone about his recruitment. Trattou told everyone he wasn't talking to anyone, even though he was going to FL all along. Liar and coach Mattison, a former ND coach as well who used to profess his love for ND, ripped ND for its weather and social life. It was a shock to everyone when Trattou signed with FL.

6. Omar Hunter, another ND 'lock', got the same deal as Trattou, with a twist. Hunter even lied to his entire family, esp his dad, who wanted Omar to go to ND for the education. The worst part was that when Hunter heard rumors that his position coach was going to the NFL, Liar lied to his face and said the coach was staying. ND coaches warned Hunter about it, but he wouldn't listen, and he committed to FL. Right after NSD, of course, the coach took off to the NFL.

7. FL and Liar are notorious for negative recruiting tactics. NOTORIOUS. I can't even go through the list of recruits who have claimed that FL coaches do that. Many are turned off, but tomany it puts doubts in their heads. Just ask Riggs! Why do you think Liar came out and said he wouldn't ever go to ND? Because coaches are doing the same thing to him what he does to them.

So you can see why many ND fans, despite Liar's winning ways, would never want that scumbag on campus. I used to be about the W's too, still am actually, but to a point. After hearing from a h.s. coach that many high school coaches can't stand the guy, I read up on Liar. I too, would never want that ass-hat on our beautiful campus. He's scum, he trashes ND every chance he gets, he already turned us down once, and we don't need to lower ourselves to that d-bag.

:soapbox: DONE...

The only thing I can say if F the guy and I hope he falls on his face while we rise to the top without him.

Great posts!. I knew he was a douche, but I had no clue as to the specifics. Thanks. According to all of the recruits ND has landed the past few years, Charlie is a stand up, honest guy. I like that. Go Irish!

Yeah winning isnt everything.... but losing sucks big time. If we dont win, CW will be gone, and if they invite UM here, its okay with me. I will gladly accept him, a man who Lou Holtz respects, i will respect.

I don't care if Holtz, the Pope, and the ghost of Knute Rockne all recommend Urbie. He is a dishonest, disloyal piece of filth. The day that ND cares more about winning overall than winning the right way is the day that I stop rooting for the Irish.

IDC what you guys say, ask any player who has ever played for meyer wether or not they trust him. No i didnt say players he recruited that went elsewhere, i said players who actually played for him. Recruiting in itself is a shady business.

None of you personally know him, and i doubt any of you know anyone who even played for him. I do, i live 15 min from BG where he coached, and his players loved him and would "run through a brick wall" for him.

He promises championships at Florida. Check. He promises good weather at Florida. Check. He promises good chances to go pro by playing at Florida. In comparison to charlie thus far, check.

Im not saying he hasnt said NDs weather sucks compared to Florida. IT DOES. Or that the social life is better at Florida... it probably is. Or that the girls are hotter in Florida. They are. You obviously need to use everything at your disposal to get kids to want that campus, and he certainly does, hell he even finishes strong every year in recruiting.

All any of you have to say about meyer is internet hear say, which alot of the time can be just a bunch of B.S.

Trattou's quote after decommitting and going to Florida was "The reason i made this choice is because Florida gives me the best shot at winning a NC." He already won one, with two more possible.

Sorry, i just dont buy B.S. He is a winner to the bone, whatever it takes kinda guy. Thats my kind of coach. CW has it in him, but he better show it this year, or bye bye.

Found another article, quotes from Lou Holtz in it about UM. His take on Urban's "never coaching at notre dame. ever." quote. He said its kind of like dating a really cute really romantic girl, and saying hey i want to spend my whole life with ya, but ya didnt have your fingers crossed.

His own quote when he coached at ND. "I will never coach anywhere else accept ND again. You can put it in granite."
South Carolina anyone?

Anyways, heres the article, it talks about the Japan game, things that could have gone different, etc. Link below.

Very Nice! I wish Charlie all the luck. But if he doesnt win he's gone and you know who is coming. Its so obvious its pathetic. If you have an open mind like me at least, you will be able to see the writing on the wall.

Thanks Jas, great find. Just another reason I can't stand that prick (Liar, not you Jas!). Some highlights from the article:

When he called Florida to inform the school that the Gators were his pick, the coaching staff was happy, but head coach Urban Meyer asked him not to talk about his decision with the media for a few days. Louis didn’t really think much about that comment, until this past week.

That set off alarms in his head and he immediately began calling and e-mailing Meyer and his coaching staff.

After five or so days of silence from Florida’s end, Louis said to heck with it and called the Ohio State coaches to let them know he will be a Buckeye next year.

Louis and Atlantic coach Andre Thaddies said after news surfaced that Louis had decided to go to Ohio State, now the Florida coaching staff has called and e-mail numerous times. Louis hasn’t returned any of those calls or e-mails saying, “it’s too late for that.”

These stories just come out too much from FL. They're weasles, straight out. They need to stop offering so many guys if they're unwilling to take their commitments b/c they're waiting for other guys. These kids commit, and then are ignored or told not to tell anyone, only to get screwed in the end. They're assholes, through and through, lead by their bitch-ass leader, Urban Liar. Irish Addiction and NDOM, I can absolutely understand your frustrations w/ CW and you wanting ND to win, but the last thing I want to hear is all these stories coming out of ND. Notre Dame still stands for something, and it won't if that coward, yes, COWARD, takes over...

No references, no way to see both sides of the story, seeing that meyer cant talk to the media about recruits until NSD. Sry NDinLA.... i dont buy into everything on the internet. We pull schollies too if other kids commit, kacy rodgers this year actually. bigger fish in the sea. recruiting is a cut throat game, and meyer wins in that game too.

I agree with you there. But this isn't an isolated incident. It happens too often with him. Recruiting is absolutely cutthroat, but you can win in recruiting without fucking with kids' lives. CW proved it in 2008, and hell, he proves it yearly. (We're not talking about coaching here.) But Meyer proves that he can't do it without being a scumbag, or at least he chooses not to.

The incidents keep mounting up. He simply can't look someone in the face and tell the truth. He's a wuss, a coward. Every recruit says the EXACT opposite about CW. They always talk about how real he is, and how he cares not only about football but about the kid's life. Notre Dame stops recruiting kids, sure, but when have you ever heard a ND recruit under CW say that ND ignored their calls when they tried to commit, or they lied to them. FL didn't let our very own Ian Williams commit, and they told him they weren't taking anymore DT's. Then they turn around a couple days later and accept a DT commit. Why couldn't Urban be a man and just tell Ian that they wanted someone better? Why did he have to be a p*ssy and lie to him? Is it really that hard to be honest? He's a grown man! Even the OK St. coach gets that!

And that's just one case. Liar has a string of them. If this latest story was the first time I heard this out of FL, I'd be skeptical. 2nd time even. But like the 10th time? That's a pattern bro. He's scum IMO, b/c he's the type of guy where you're never sure you can look him in the eye and get a straight answer. He's a used car salesman, and a great one at that. But he's still slicker than oil, and he's still a used car salesman. Only a FL fan can defend his actions at this point, and they'd be lying through their teeth if they did defend him.

Now, if you don't give a shit about that stuff, and you just want to win, well that's your opinion and that's your right (and you're not alone). But personally, I'm done with the scumbag Liar. We'll just agree to disagree on this one...

When did Notre Dame pull the offer to Kacy Rogers ? I don't remember hearing he tried to commit to Notre Dame.

If you're not lying, your not trying my friends. Sure he lies, if it is to get the players he wants. This may not be ethical, but I understand that the coaches will do and say anything to make their program a winner.

You can still recruit well with integrity. Charlie Weis does it well.

I second that. I understand there is pressure to win. But if you are willing to lie, cheat and steal to do it, who can trust you and what kind of person are you? It is possible to succeed while maintaining your character.

Recruiting becomes infinitely easier when you are winning; winning becomes infinitely easier when you cheat in recruiting; promises to recruits become easier when you don't give a damn whether or not they graduate; tolerating felony behavior become a natural part of your game when you are winning and if necessary, you suspend the felons for a can't lose game and everybody is happy. Meyer will never coach at ND --- not because he said so but rather the administration and fans won't have him. Period.

The sad thing is the guy has lied his way to another top recruiting class no matter what anyone else does from here on out. Watching all the top rated kids from the high school all star games do the gator chomp after pledging to Florida has made me absolutely sick and he is still in the running for some of the other top guys that are left. The rich get richer and Notre Dame seems to once again be left out in the rain.

We'll see if that's a lie or not. Actually, this is one time that I hope he's lying.

as I said before, there is a lie somewhere in Urban Liar operation:
if you have heart/blood pressure issues is prolly from herititary*, or its your lifestyle. in any situation, the reaction of your players is not going to improve your medical status.(as ubran liar claimed happened)

If we are to take Urban Liar for his word, then he is putting his life in jeopardy to remain at Florida. Urban Liar has been called a lot of things, stupid not being one that I recall. I find it hard to believe that he would put his life in jeopardy to remain at Florida. something is missing from all this florida/urban liar equation, it still doesnt quite add up.

the big question is....will the recruits buy it? (isnt this what this is all about?)

In fairness, that incident happened 2 years ago. It's on my original post in this thread.

Having said that, I still can't believe he gets away with this shit every year. I just wrote this on another thread:

WTF??? Where are they going to fit all these guys? They have 24 commits already, and seemingly 20 top recruits visiting this month. I understand completely why thugs would buy into the FL hype and all, but I don't see how any self-respecting parent would believe all the shit Liar sells, assuming they do any research on the guy. He's as dirty as they come.

I will give Urban Liar this though: His daughter was sooooo happy to have her daddy back, and he really gave his daughter the best daddy in the world for that one night. He's everything a father should aspire to be...a great dadday for a night. And don't you dare blame him for un-resigning the very next morning...I mean, HIS PLAYERS HAD A GREAT PRACTICE!!! You try being a family man after your players have a great practice. Impossible I say!
