Hello all,
I'm sure you remember the highlight that was circulating the sports world when, during Nebraska's spring game, a young boy with cancer ran the ball for a touchdown. That young boy was sponsored by Nebraska's chapter of the national organization Uplifting Athletes. You can read more about the national organization here: Uplifting Athletes. Each chapter, (individual schools) chose a rare disease and raise attention to the disease through outreach, research, education, and advocacy.
Notre Dame recently created a chapter, headed up by Lineback Joe Schmidt as President and Mathias Farley as Vice President. According to the bylaws of the organization, only one member of each chapter's board is allowed to be a non-football player. I was asked to serve as Treasurer, and gladly accepted the position.
The Notre Dame Chapter is holding their first ever bowling event on Sunday, June 9th at Strikes & Spares Event Center in Mishawaka, IN from 10am-1pm. Proceeds from this event will go towards the Chapter's efforts of raising research funds for osteosarcoma.
Fans of the Fighting Irish will have the opportunity to bowl with current Chapter members (members of the football team) for an hour. Each registrant will choose an hour of bowling, starting at 10am or 11:15am, with three other children and two Notre Dame Chapter members. Registration costs $100 for each child and includes a photo opportunity with both the players and the Fighting Irish mascot himself.
You can also sponsor a lane for the event for $250.

Thanks to everyone reading this post, able to donate, and able to participate. It's going to a great cause, and I hope you can come support! Feel free to P.M. me with any questions.
Jimmy
