Dos_Anjos_vs_McGregor.jpg

So Dos Anjos pulled out (much like Aldo did first time around) and Nate Diaz steps in to face Conor McGregor. Should be a fun fight but I'd fancy McGregor even up at 170 lbs.
What you guys reckon?

If Holm loses, anyone think Rousey will still try to fight her just to get revenge?

I can't stand the Diaz brothers. I can't stand McGregor...I'm hoping for the very rare, simultaneous knockout. It's the only way I'll be happy with the outcome.

Connor Intrigues me. He is very entertaining. He is easily at 170. Just probably not 185 like Diaz is right now. Connor is quicker and still has a lot of power. Im definitely going to watch this fight. Also, I dont see Holly Holm losing. She might be the best MMA to ever fight as a woman. The sport is sorely behind talent wise in that division. Though Tate will be a much different challenge than Ronda.

Dumbest thing she'd ever do. Get KO'd again without the title on the line. That would be the end of her career.

??? There's only 5 girls in the world that any average MMA fan can name so she's not going anywhere if she loses, plus she's in deep with the company. I mean, I saw Tito Ortiz lose a dozen fights and I'm sure he's fighting in Belator any day now.

Now the important question... Is Ben Askren on the card? Would love to see him tie McGregor up in a knot with one hand while flipping Dana off with the other.

Wrestlers made MMA what it is today in the states, would love to see a world class guy who still uses it against top tier comp.

He may be going up 25 pounds. But he is in great shape. He is a great fighter. He could might at 170 if he wanted to. I think he is naturally a 155 lightweight but he could not necessarily will control three belts.

Connor with the 2nd rd TKO.

I too can't stand the Diaz bro's. I don't them personally so maybe they are great guys with a bad guy persona for the sport but to me they act like guys that need an ass whooping. I love everytime one of them gets the shit kicked out of em.

I used to be with this 100% but as I shut off the outside the ring garbage that the UFC promotes in it's Vince McMahon-esque fashion I started to enjoy Nate Diaz for what he did. Stand toe to toe with anybody and throw some old school playground boxing until someone took him down where they found out that was more dangerous than standing up and eating 75 jabs a round.

Anyways I'm an Irish American so this one's easy for me... Go Diaz. I always root for Americans.

Have been a big fan of Nick Diaz for a long time, before I knew there was a Nate. I like Nate too, but mostly Nick. I think what these guys do is grossly underrated and sometimes drowned out by their own antics. But in the mat these guys are true fighters. I also love Conor for many of the same reasons. I am intrigued by this fight, hate to pick a winner, but I will be pulling for McGregor... I think.

If he did this without being a complete douche while in the ring, I'd agree and enjoy it as well. In fact, that's what I love about the sport. What ruins it, is when some bitch gets in there and starts making faces, putting his hands up, yawning, and those stupid antics he repeatedly does. He makes a joke of himself and the sport, its embarrassing.

I actually find them refreshing because their antics are not part of a calculated marketing scheme (Chael Sonnen style, which I also appreciate). They are just being them and I appreciate that. And they may lose but they RARELY get their ass whooped. Nick has been finished 1 time in his career, his 5th pro fight back in 2002. Nate has also been finished only once by punches (he got subbed 10 years ago by a very good black belt).

209! War Diaz! Dont be scared homie!

Don't you think they do that for a reason? They get in peoples heads and it convinces them to stand and bang which plays to their own strength. Watch the Nate-Cowboy fight. Explains my point perfectly.

Please dont say you're a Conor fan... If you hate the Diaz' antics, Conor would have you punching the TV.

I actually meant Nick but wrote Nate. Still, hope Nate wins but that's not where I'd lay the coin.

Just read that Uriah accepted the fight when approached by Dana but McGregor wanted Nate over Uriah, Cowboy and Anthony Pettis. Don't know how I feel about that. Fighting Uriah seems to be the obvious choice after TUF and Uriah said he was in shape at 158.

Hmmmm...

The girl was contemplating suicide the first time... gonna risk that for a non-title fight?

I understand why they do it, it still makes it classless. Lebron James doesn't blow in peoples ears, Lance Stephenson does. The Diaz's would be the Lance Stephensons of the world. Not good enough to be the man but sure can act like it and taunt the man as if that helps them.

And no, I'm not a huge fan of Connor McGregor but he's a really good fighter at this point in time and I will thoroughly enjoy watching him destroy Nate.

Yes, I know he didn't beat GSP, but who would you rather watch?

Haha, KJ Noons kicked his butt back in 2007 and he spent the next 3 years fighting a bunch of garbage. Finally redeemed himself by beating Noons the second time around. Beat an old BJ Penn and then lost the next two to the only real fighters he faced in a decade. Guy made his name talking about how good he was while he was beating up chumps for 7ish years. Well, he got his shot and couldnt' beat anyone worth a shit.

Lastly, and most importantly since you put that picture up, was that when he beat Paul Daley to become the Strikeforce Champion? Oh my goodness, he beat Paul Daley! That's incredible.

This fight is so easy to see through. Conor hated the fact that he caught Aldo so early and deprived the fans of a show.

So given the chance he picked up a fight against a Diaz brother.. What does that mean? Nate Diaz will stand up and swing his lanky ass arms until Conor decides to deliver the KO.. Ultimately giving the fans a show.

Yea, it wouldn't surprise me if he decidedly wins round 1 but measures him up for something brutal in the 2nd, that's how I see it going down.

KJ Noons kicked his butt? Lol it got stopped for a cut... Do you remember the fight or just looking at the record?

Got to the UFC, whooped BJ's ass, got his shot at Georges, Georges pulled. Fought Condit, one of the more controversial decisions of the last few years. "Running Man" won a decision but did zero damage. And GSP won by typical GSP lay-and-pray. Fights Anderson Silva, Anderson refuses to engage and wins a boring decision by landing more jabs. Again, no damage.

The fact that you don't respect Paul Daley is very telling.

My question was would you rather watch the crisp volume boxing of Diaz or GSP hit a takedown on someone and lay in their guard cutting them with short elbows? This game isn't about belts.
