BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Two police officers sitting in their car in Brooklyn have been shot.

The shooting happened just before 3 p.m., Saturday at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Tompkins Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Brooklyn Council member Robert Cornegy tells PIX11 that the officers were sitting in their car eating lunch when the suspect came up to the car and shot them.

The officers were taken to Woodhull Hospital where they are in grave condition.

The NYPD tweeted for people to keep the officers in their prayers shortly after the shooting.

Police chased down the suspect and shot him near the Myrtle Ave. subway station.

The suspect is also in grave condition.

The NYPD Special Victim Unit is offering a reward for anyone with information about the shooting.

2 NYPD cops shot dead ‘execution style’ in Brooklyn
A possible suspect was found shot at the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Two uniformed NYPD officers were shot dead — execution style — as they sat in their marked police car on a Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, street corner.
According to preliminary reports, both officers were working overtime as part of an anti-terrorism drill when they were shot point-blank by a single gunman who approached their car at the corner of Myrtle and Tompkins avenues.
“It’s an execution,” one law enforcement source told The Post of the 3 p.m. shooting.
The gunman just started “pumping bullets” into the patrol car, another source said.
The suspected gunman fled to a nearby subway station at Myrtle and Willoughby avenues, where he was fatally shot. Preliminary reports were unclear on whether he was shot by police or his own hand.
“They engaged the guy and he did himself,” one investigator said.
“I heard shooting, — four or five shots,” ear-witness Derrick McKie, 49, told The Post.
“It sounded like from a single gun,” he said. Ambulances and police cars rushed to the scene, he said.
“I saw an officer being put on a stretcher,” he said. “There was lots of chaos and confusion.”
Carmen Jimenez, 32, a social worker from Bedford-Stuyvesant, was on the subway platform when the gunman ran inside, pursued by officers.
“Everything happened so quick,” said Jimenez, who is eight months pregnant. “We were standing waiting for the G train. We heard arguing from the other end of the platform.
It looked like two cops came in there was lots of yelling and they said, ‘Everybody get down.’
“We tried to get out of there, and there was a lot of shouting, people were screaming, people were trying to run.
“I threw myself on the floor. I was afraid for my life and afraid for my baby.”

Hope it's true but TV news is lagging considerably behind on events today. The cable stations didn't have a Breaking News alert until an hour or an hour and a half after reports were out. Most of the reports have been citing the POST reports as the TV stations have limited staff on the weekend and they were running mostly canned health shows like Sanjay Gupta.

He apparently murdered two female officers, I would say that this sick fack has some woman issues and probably some mental issues to boot, despite what he allegedly posted on instagram.

I googled Baltimore news earlier and only found a report of an Owings Mills woman shot in the abodomen by someone known to her who was being sought. The shooting took place yesterday. No names, no details.

The actual reports the shooting in Maryland at 6:00 am. Considering a couple of hours to drive to NYC. He shot the cops not too long after getting to NYC, at most a couple of hours.

Ruminating on Redbar's spitball, I don't think this guy had an actual plan. Shots the GF in an argument, flees to NYC, walks around, realizes he's out of options, and figures he'll get his 15 minutes of folklore and go out in a blaze of glory. Some blaze ... In a subway.
