Isn't this the opposite of what trump promised?

Trump proved in his first term he likes to spend money and was not serious about cutting spending. Part of the reason I didn't buy into his tariff tough talk.

TCJA was the greatest simplification of tax code in my lifetime, huge win. But he discovered the joy of retarded giveaways during his four year sabbatical. No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on SS - all pandering to the lowest common denominator. He DGAF about deficits, IMO.

Congress sucks pretty terribly - both sides. But especially republicans. They can do anything they want right now and choose to structurally change absolutely nothing. Fucking losers have a chance at real cuts and outright refuse to do it. DOGE is conceptually massively popular - codify as much as possible! Instead, nada. Not sure how we reign in spending which is why I am in the camp that sees persistent inflation and higher interest rates for longer. SS/Medicare are now spending more than they bring in for the first time in their existence - consider the massive swing from net inflows to net outflows - hugely inflationary.

When Republicans get their ass kicked in midterms they will blame Trump when the reality they did it to themselves by not taking action on the 80/20 issues Trump has laid in front of them. The only thing keeping spending from being an 80/20 issue is there is more than 20% of voters complicit in the fraud.

Oh cool. Thanks for the clarification. It's just a bunch of insignificant minorities. Plus they are white so they kinda had it coming. No one really likes them anyways. Well, kill away then I guess...

Before you do that and take the farms, you have to find out the location of their stash of magic soil that they sprinkle on the land to make it so productive.

Zimbabwe found that out the hard way.

Given the uncertainty in our world today, I'm surprised we haven't done this before. He needs to rename it. There's only one Golden Dome. ;)

You've said it... Blame Trump. That's the problem with Congress for the last 20 years. It's easier to allow EOs to happen, not do any tangible legislation, pass massive spending, and collect their salaries than do their jobs. While this is hyperbolic and obviously not really the SAME, this is like the Senate giving their power away in Rome. We all saw how well that went.

Yes...because the US has famously never had a missile defense system with a cornball name before pitched by a Republican president.

I didn't know it was possible to "sun down" at 815am.

That twink dem Hogg got jettisoned to the sun as soon as he suggested primary challenges for shitty Dems. Same applied to Republicans - McConnell and Co. get testy quick when RINOs get challenged. All the party money goes to defending incumbency at all costs. Rome is exactly the trajectory - keep deflecting the blame on the POTUS (both directions) while re-electing the same morons to Congress and ignoring local elections.

Hogg got jettisoned because he correctly pointed out that dems have a problem with young white men, and the DNC leadership still is unable to take an honest look in the mirror and admit their flaws
