We kindly returned it to Denmark. But that was 1945. That was 80 years ago. If it has value to us greater than the value to them, we should take it.

...No..because Nazi Germany was not our ally during the war. The entire point of us having Greenland during the war was holding for when Denmark was liberated/we won.

If we had not won..or Denmark had not been liberated it would have ended up either as US or GB territory of some kind. Perhaps even independent.
