I dont think its a given he wins the primary, especially if the field starts consolidating. Donald is polling in the 30s and 40s in NH/IA. He polls in the 50's "nationally", but none of these candidates have been campaigning nationally. So either hes just deeply unpopular (relatively speaking) in NH/IA or republican primary voters in other states aren't nearly as tuned in yet. I dont think its a coincidence that his numbers are what they are in NH/IA.

If the people on the debate stage last night start to behave rationally, they'll trickle out and put their weight behind Ron or Nikki. If they all stay in, then he'll cruise to the nomination. If they get out, I dont think he wins.
Ron is so insanely unlikeable there's no way he wins the general. If it's anyone other than Trump dems replace Biden.

He has had the media aimed at him, huge spending dumps from Trump, and still done amazing in Florida.

Whoever the nominee is will see the full target of the press to bash them. We would see Haley worse than Trump stuff if she wins.

I struggle to see how they deny a black woman VP the nomination.

She'll probably point to the Bid Laden raid and say Obama set a precedent.
We've already had previous presidents send our guys south of the border to "clean up" some things. It's just not been officially announced to everyone.

I don't really buy the "hes unlikable" narrative. Trump has spent tens of millions trying to make that a thing. Dems have spent years trying to paint him as some awful guy.

Yet he won a purple-ish state by 20 points against a former governor. Idk how well the narrative holds up in the wild.

Hes not the first guy I'd call up to grab beers with though, if thats what you are getting at.

Watch him during these debates. It seriously seems like there’s something wrong with him.

Just like AOC, his voice is so grating. It sounds like he's whining constantly. If he Gruesome Newsome's voice he would dumpster everyone.

I think Ramswamy stays in till close to the end. With that said, even if it gets whittled down to 3 quickly, Trump is still the easy winner. I think Ramswamy staying in helps Trump more than it hurts him.

This is possible. Not the most soothing voice lol. Oddly enough when I've heard him in some interviews that are more friendly or non-adversarial or whatever, he sounds different. More conversational.

Maybe its a comfort level thing.

Just strange to see, he's been in public eye for so long you would like he would find a way around it. Maybe not to the level of Elizabeth Holmes or Vivek, but at least get to Mother Pence.

He's got coke jaw, grinding that shit like he's burnt out. Likely from stress though.
Yes this is a huge part of it. Someone needs to tell him to stop doing it when the moderators are asking him questions. They always cut to a closeup of him listening and it's so noticeable.

This is why I don't really subscribe to the "he's unlikable" thing. He goes on Bill Maher and can do a relatively lighthearted interview pretty smoothly.

Apologies for the shitty recording.

Trump isn't a republican. He is a huge middle finger to he DC elite. Always has been. These douche nozzles hate that the vast majority of Americans despise them. Pols don't appreciate that when you waken the sleeping giant you might have hell to pay. That is why non-politicians who don't play by the rules must be jailed.

Second place in the R primary is worth holding on to - high probability Trump is forced off the ballot by the machine. That could be on the national or local level, or some combination of both. Anyone who thinks Trump on the ballot is 100% in the hands of the primary process is naive.

If I could wave a wand and determine the result, I would run Burgam with Vivek as VP. Burgum seems to STFU and get to work making government smaller and more efficient. Worth giving Vivek a shot on the larger stage which can determine if he can get shit done or if he a pure grifter. Screaming "grifter" at Vivek is hilarious pot calling kettle black level stuff. Elites hate people who are successful outside of politics for playing in their sandbox especially if they are YOUNG and successful. Yuck, let me grift into my 90s and leave Congress feet first!

Republicans hide behind Trump's aura as excuse to dump him when they really want to get away from his policy. No war is bad for business. Look at them slobber over Ukraine. Smaller government is bad business. Less federal power is bad for business. Neutering the alphabet agencies is bad for business. Trump is in it for the game, he isn't serious about fixing shit. He hasn't articulated any plan, or any team to attack these issues. He just wants to suck up the limelight.

Screw Haley - war monger neo-cons need not apply.

Not sure how the GOP kicks Trump off the ballot without going full DNC mode and super-delegate. I would love it, but don’t see it happening. Fully agree that Trump is the middle finger vote. Whenever I hear people who are ‘the only choice is Trump‘ it seems to boil down to this.

Vivek needs to hold the same positions for greater than a year and actually be a Republican for awhile before getting on the biggest stage.

Haley may actually be able to recover some of the cringe suburban wine mom caucus that has fled blue.

If a few key states get Trump off the ballot b/c he is a felon or whatever it becomes impossible to win. Or gets assassinated b/c the establishment sees he is front running and all of their other tactics failed. Or the old man has a fucking stroke and croaks. Even if the odds are low, the upside makes it worth playing stall ball and seeing what happens.

You could say the same of Trump as you say of Vivek - Trump is was far from Republican before running. Hilarious "trust" career politicians more than either of them though. So it's better to be a proven sell out than someone you suspect will sell out?

Nikki Haley wine moms are going to love sending their sons off to WW3. They are all so damn dumb they will never see it coming. Grease ball Newsome will woo them with promises of fifth trimester abortions.

The GOP establishment is perfectly fine with Trump. They know he can be controlled. (See his endorsements by the Speaker and Graham).
Like in “Sicario?”
I enjoyed that film
