Disagree. I agreed with you earlier in the game, but it is more play calling than anything. Stop with the roll outs, do quick hitters.

NO. We can't give Tommy a pocket to pass in. Would be disastrous! Golson can do this!!!

Brah, Evertt is punch drunk at this point... He's not going through any progressions at all. He hits his initial read and gets happy feet. The pocket is there....he's playing scared. Not stepping up into the pocket. #disappointed in play

GREAT BALL!!!!!

hahaha:)

Seriously though. This game just shows how we still have a long way to go... Golson has the ability, but not the brains yet. Simple things like just throwing it out of bounds, staying in the pocket, and going out of bounds will equal more points

I couldn't stand Tommy as the QB last year. But he has proven time and time again that he deserves to be the starter this year. Kid is ice cold and wins. Golson may be the better athlete, but Tommy understands the position so much better and it's not even close. Tommy for BYU! Tommy for BYU!

Note: IF he starts next week and plays awful, I'll stand by this statement that he at least has earned the opportunity.

GO IRISH! GREAT WIN!!

I love what we have right now. I think Golson will be fine, and in those occasions when he can't handle the situation, we have the perfect backup QB.

I wonder if Golson will be able to go next week anyway. I wonder if his injury was his turf toe or his head.

Stick with EG. Everybody is overlooking the fact that Stanford game planned for EG and didn't change it up when Tommy came in. I think if they had game planned for Tommy they would not have been as aggressive. Now with that being said EG needs to work on his pre snap reads and blitz recognition. But that's what film and coaches are for.

TR is clutch, but EG should do better vs. BYU than he showed today. I like the two QB system for this particular team. But would Kelly have sent in TR without the injury? He stayed with EG too long today.

If Tommy had started this game he simply would have been on his back all game---we lose this game if Rees starts---The OLINE was beaten pretty badly and we couldn't run---Tommy would not have offered anything better and would not have gotten into the game had it not been for Golson's injury.--remember the team was driving when Tommy went in-----this game was not about REES & GOLSSON---

The game was about DEFENSE--Stanford defense was terrific--pressured the QB all day-- closed down the running games--smelled out that toss sweep every time----

REES would not have fared better---Stanford was TERRIFIC ON DEFENSE__BUT WE WERE BETTER!!!

If Golson is healthy enough to play, he should be the starter. But I do think Tommy is great in this role as the relief pitcher and he is doing a hell of a job. I respect the hell out of Rees, I just think Golson is capable of more over the course of the game. Having him at the ready to come in and lead a drive is a great luxury, and if he has to go next week because Golson can't then I'll be comfortable with it.

Golson's ceiling is so high, did you see that fade to Eifert? Tommy doesn't make that throw. TJ Jones flipping from Stanford to ND turns out to be the recruitment that wins the game!

I would argue that Tommy makes the throw to TJ Jones earlier in the game that was batted away. I argue that he would have released the ball with a bit more zip and quicker then Golson did.

I agree on Golson's ceiling being so high.

Did you see that final drive? Rees was 4/4, 43 yards and a TD. Golson doesn't make that drive.

But Golson is still the starter, and rightfully so.

Here's the thing. Neither Tommy nor Everett are complete enough QBs to be able to carry a game from start to finish at this point. Tommy never will be b/c of his physical limitations. Everett may be next year or the year after. BK is doing the right thing with the 2 QB system. Get the guy in the game in the correct situation, while building appropriately for the future. There's no reason to muck with what is working at this point. Everett has a lot to learn, but he's not the gawd awful mess that some of you are saying he is. He's making some freshman mistakes, and the only way to learn to get past those is on the field. Its a good thing right now, and will pay off if he can hold off Kiel for the starters job next year.
