Tweet from Jay Bilas. Lol

NCAA after denying Abromaitis: "Still Think We're a Bunch of Dumb Jocks?" No, but you may have a bunch of dumb administrators.

The rulings on 6th years (like everything else the NCAA does) seems completely arbitrary to me. There's no rhyme or reason as to why some get approval and others rejected. Abromaitis embodies everything student-athletes should be. The NCAA must have a rule against having already obtained an advanced degree.

perfect example of what is wrong with the NCAA. Let's allow kids that have been arrested 3 times in the past 4 years continue on with their "education"

Our basketball team is about to kill it next year. I had the pleasure to hang out with Abro and Martin, but if they both get rejcted it's no big deal

The NCAA is not wrong here.

You have to keep in mind that Notre Dame screwed up Tim's eligibility and the NCAA--with all of that continuing education in mind--did Notre Dame a favor and granted Tim a fifth year that he shouldn't have had.

Then, Tim blows his knee out in the beginning of the season...and we want the NCAA to grant him a rare waiver in addition to the bending the rules they did last year?

You can't be upset with the NCAA with this decision. Not at all.

Sucks that he is not coming back... but I agree with this...

Buster nailed it. This is exactly why everyone at ND thought Abro's chances for getting a 6th year were slim. You take away the screw up of playing Abro in the exhibition games his red shirt year from the discussion and he probably gets his 6th year approved.

ND hoops star Tim Abromaitis is a 3.8 GPA/MBA guy ..sounds exactly like the kind of image NCAA needed to purge from system ASAP. SMH
