Aiming for a 5:30 PM start...next round of rain supposed to be there by 7.
Nah, not supposed to rain again until after dark. They should get it in as long as there’s not too many cautions and it gets too dark.

The Hondas have been awful today. These guys have been angling like there’s 20 to go since 4:40. Crazy awesome race, so far.

Exciting finish...last 60 laps were about as good as you could hope for. Made it by 30 minutes...was either going to be 200 laps or 8:15 PM per Speedway law.

Just a really great race.

There’s nothing like it. I’m deadass serious when I say the chills I get when ND comes out of the tunnel cannot touch the chills I get when they play Taps at the Speedway and there are 300k plus in absolute silence. The Indy 500 is everything that’s really great about sports and even if you’re not that into racing, you need to go at least once. It’s just sort of indescribable.

Pre-Race Indy 500 is everything that is right with America. A ten minute straight tear jerker.

Jim Cornelison singing Back Home Again in Indiana is a personal favorite for me as a Hawks fan. Bonus there is, he graduated from IU Music School.

I'd love for Mellancamp to sing God Bless America some day.

If only Indy had a few right hand curves and elevation changes it would be perfect.

Ovals lack so much for me.

Taps at Indy will bring tears to you.

Damn rain delay had me out of beer. The look in my lady’s eye when I said I need a ride to the “L” was priceless. 🤷‍♂️ She’ll be fine..

Race was bad ass once we got going. 2 time back to back champ.

Growing up with Mary Hulman George saying: "Gentlemen start your engines..." and then Jim Nabors singing Back Home Again...to taps...to the flyover. America wrapped up in 15 minutes.

Indy does the best pregame ceremony of anyone. Not even close.
Was hoping O'Ward could have pulled it out. He should get one, but Indy is fickle.
$4.5 million for Josef Newgarden!
First repeat winner in 20 years.
$1 million for O'Ward.
The field had something like 15 foreign drivers.
345,000 tickets sold! Time to broadcast it live locally.

My favorite weekend of the year. I love the shitty but somehow so good truck food, beer cans everywhere, body positivity, everyone having fun, and the show that they put on. I did the Snake Pit for the first time this year for about 2 hours, which was interesting. The night before was lively with the huge fowling setup they had. This was the first time I picked the driver right, so I was pretty happy Newgarden pulled it off. Pato has been close for so long. I wouldn't have been too upset had he figured it out.
