I didn't actually get an ND present, but I did give one out-- I shat in a paper bag and hid it under my neighbor's passenger seat. He's a USC fan.

Not a christmas present, but I feel like this is as good a place as any to tell the story...

As my username hints, I used to live in Syria. It was the last year of Weis' career, and the reason I joined IrishEnvy was so I could follow the live game threads because that was the best way for me to follow the games.

Anyways, one day I was on the bus (it's really more like a van, but that's not the point) to visit a friend who was living in one of the neighborhoods that was dominated by Druze and Iraqi refugees. As we were driving down the main road, I noticed a rug store selling a bunch of cheap looking rugs. One stood out, though I was fairly certain I didn't see it quite right. Next time I drove by that shop, I had the driver stop and got off the bus. Sure enough, hidden amongst a bunch of crappy rugs was this gem. Quite possibly the only piece of Notre Dame swag in Syria, one of the few in the entire Middle East. I immediately bought it. When I finally left Syria, I made sure I left the door mat so the good word of Notre Dame football would not be leaving the country with me.

Congrats bro, I got my little girl last year, enjoy every minute time flies by..... I know everyone says it but you don't quite understand it until you're a parent. They make all kinds of cool ND gear for kids!
