Crazy the route he took. #1 pick who started to look like a bust. Goes to Brewers where they send him down to work on his swing & he’s a key cog in the lineup.
Someone probably whispered in his ear not to chase pitches outside of the strike zone and that there isn't any reason to be in a hurry to make outs.

Seems to happen a lot when guys leave Jerry's South Side circus.

I do believe it’s that simple. For instance, I read where the Brewers told Vaughn, “If you chase, you won’t play”. He’s a great pull hitter so if he can balance that w/ selective pitches, he should be solid. Reminds me of when Dodgers picked up Max Muncy off the scrap heap in Oakland. He still can be guilty of chasing but has a good walk rate & a beautiful dead pull swing. Could also stand to lose a few pounds…LOL

I received half a dozen texts when he hit that bomb and they were the same three words:

Andrew Fucking Vaughn.

LOL. I love my self hating Cub fan friends.

One final chance for those sleepy Tigers bats to jump to life and save their season. Just give Skub another chance tomorrow...

Otherwise, I guess I'm hopping on the Brewers bandwagon.

But first...go Tigers.

Intentional walks?
Hate them. I would say only the hardest of hard-core fans of baseball like them. In my opinion the worst play in sport. All they do is take the superstars out of the game a bit.
I would make an intentional walk or a deemed intentional walk (if they throw 4 straight balls) you walk to 2nd base.

Chisholm is electric but kind of sucks in the field. He is fast can hit HRs but I'd punt him.

Really needed Volpe to get on base there to get Judge up but he is not good at doing that.

Who is this mustached dude for the Yanks making a 3rd out, on the first pitch, in the bottom 8, down 4, right after the Jays walked them loaded?

How about take a pitch and work the count against meat? Pass the next AB down to the next hitter.

You’d know better than me but it seems that Max is pulling off the ball because his gut doesn’t allow him to catch heat any more.

I recall him driving the ball to center at least. Now I just see an overweight, under hitting DH (can’t play the field) who can only get to 93 cheating and by pulling off of it.

That would have been Grisham. Good regular season but typical of the line up really just a HR hitter and that dried up the last 2 weeks and was never very good at getting on base. The really bad out in that inning was Volpe. He thinks he is a HR hitter so his eyes lit up and swung wildly. If he got on base Judge would have probably gotten on with bases loaded. Volps gots to gew.

Nope, close though. It was his Club 54 dance mate Wells.

Grisham was never a HR hitter until he got to NY. Isn’t he a lefty? I’m guessing Yankee Stadium helped him out. Great glove but wasn’t much of a threat at the plate when he was in SD. Hovered around the Mendoza Line & rarely showed power. Once they get a taste though they think they’re Aaron Judge. Chicks dig the long ball.

Schittler wasn’t stellar, but he kept them in the game. Watching the Yankees take strike after strike was hard to watch. I did laugh when they showed a fan stand up and yell, “Swing the fucking bat”.

Hopefully they will look to add a couple of bats that hit for percentage instead of parking the long ball.

That is exactly what they needed from Volpe and why Dominguez should have been in the lineup. The Yankees batters get HR derangement syndrome. Volpe needs to go down to AAA for a season to get his batting in order.

Wanted to share: Went to Cubs game last night and Andre Dawson and his wife were in the row behind us.

Dude looked like he could still go 2 for 4 in his 70's. Gracious as can be in giving the kids autographs (including my son).

One row behind that sat Fergie Jenkins but my kid missed the autograph there b/c he was waiting for the 9th to ask and Fergie never came back after he sang during the seventh inning stretch.

Yanks need more than that. Without Judge, NY is a .500 team at best.

And Judge still can’t touch 95 up and in. Pedro would eat his lunch.

Take Phils tonight for easy money. Glasnow is horrible between untimely walks followed by a crushing HR. And Dodgers can’t hit Sanchez. His change up is kryptonite to their bats.

Awesome. Dawson has always been one of the good guys. Used to sign TTM when he was still playing. Pure class.

The Dodgers walking off because the pitcher panicked makes me want to puke.
