Here is what he said.

What a complete embarrassment they suspended him for this.

Congrats to Fernando Valenzuela for having his # retired.

You young bucks that didn’t get to experience Fernandomania missed out. He took the baseball world by storm and did so much for the Mexican-American community in So Cal.

I was a kid when I got his autograph. I was at a AA minor league game where I always got every San Antonio Dodger to autograph a ball or my glove. This young chubby kid was playing catch so I asked my dad “should I get his autograph?”. He said, “I think he’s a batboy but ask him & I’m sure he‘ll let you know”. He just grabbed by glove and signed it.

Many years later, he was trying to resurrect his career w/ the Angels. Back in AA he was pitching in my hometown and everyone knew who he was. Tickets quickly sold out. They roped off the warning track and allowed fans to stand behind that to watch the game. Fernando went on to pitch a one-hitter. He got promoted and bounced around between the Cardinals & Padres before calling it a career. He wasn’t a HOFer but man what a workhorse.

Without Mike Brito…there’s no Bobby Castillo
Without Bobby Castillo…there’s no screwball
Without a screwball…there’s no Fernando Mania

I've watched this thing a hundred times and I still don't understand how Tyson was able to throw a strike.

Ain’t no team beating the Braves. I’ll be rooting for the Orioles to go all the way but damn the Braves have it all.

When the Braves are healthy you have to be very careful with them. They have pop and speed. The pitching has been ok lately but when they are on their game gonna be hard to beat.

The O’s are young and exciting. They are playing very sound baseball. I just wonder with the youth if they can go the distance or if they will start to lose their mojo.

Strider & Fried are both worthy of #1 pitcher status. LA’s pitching staff is w/o Buehler & May whom I doubt will ever be back. Urias has had a disappointing season. This has made Kersh the default #1 which doesn’t bode well when you follow that up w/ rookies, Urias & Lance Lynn. They leave waaay too many balls over the plate which teams like the Braves can feast on. Braves should sweep every postseason series. Only question is whether Baltimore can meet them in the WS. Should be fun.

He gone for good. Was having a piss poor season when he could’ve been looking at $200M in free agency. Now he’ll be lucky to ever pitch in MLB again. I’m all for 2nd chances but if this is true, he’s way past that.

I saw that last night. I wonder if Ohtani is going ahead w/ surgery so he’s shutting his season down or if it’s something else?

One of the best articles I've ever read on The Athletic. This is why I keep subscribing.

The Padres are dysfunctional like the White Sox, only a different kind of dysfunctional. This is very eye opening in terms of the structure, culture and work environment they have there. You can fully understand how this hasn't worked despite all the moves they've made and money they've spent.
