Tenacious D

Half the season is over and here are a few interesting stats on the ND D.

The last TD scored against the D was on Sept. 8th in the Purdue game. It was a 15 yard drive after Purdue had recovered a fumble.

The D has allowed only 45 points (3 TDs and 8 field goals). The O has given up 7 points.

Last weekend 17 FBS teams scored as many or more points in one game than have been scored against the ND D in half of a season.

Indiana scored more points (49) in last Saturday's game against Ohio State than apposing teams have scored on ND's D in 6 games. Indiana lost by 3.

The D has yet to yield a rushing TD to an apposing team this year.

Yeah, I know all of this is obvious stuff but sometimes I get to listening to all the noise and then step back. In this day when teams like Indiana can put up 49 points on a top 10 team like Ohio State, it makes it all the more impressive when I look at what the D has done. Stanford had just come off a game where they scored 54 points and the D held them to 6.

lets say we win byu and ok. then we have several weeks in which our offense will look like they did vs miami. at that point, people will be very excited.
