If I had to pick one school that I hate the most it would be Boston Effing College. They tore up the end zone at ND stadium celebrating after their 2003 win, and then the wheels fell off for Ty and his teams couldn't avenge that loss in '04 and '05. Brady Quinn & Co. never got a chance to get back at them with a decent coach on the sidelines.

I still remember driving back from fall break for the '05 game and tailgating all morning in the POURING rain getting all excited about exacting our revenge on those sonsabitches, only to see our boys put on a typical Losingham performance. I then came down with bronchitis. Gosh I HATE BC.

hmmm...i hate a good deal of 'em, but here's my list:

1- michigan state - i just hate them, john l or not
2- tennessee - i have to live here with their fans
3- florida - that snake meyer (who could like/respect him?)
4- usc - the fad will be over soon and poodle will move on

Oh GG, it's just college kids having fun. And at my school, our star runningback killed a former player for talking to his girlfriend (I believe he got all of 10 or 15 years in prison; hey, this football thing isn't a bad gig at all).

Ouch, Goshen. It's tough to argue with you when you've got some pretty solid proof... I suppose my picture of OSU is a bit more tame, from my experience at least.

In any case, I think we can agree that ND is a touch more civil (I mean, when I was there we didn't burn couches--or cars). =)

My one experience at OSU....

Some frat brothers and I went to visit our chapter there. Friday night we go to a party that was 3 or 4 houses long along the street. I saw easily 3 fights and the party eventually ended via police. To give you an idea of how bad it is there, they dispatch police HELICOPTERS to fly over the areas surrounding campus on weekend evenings......and that is a NORMAL thing there; they send the birds out unprovoked, before anything has even happened because they know something will.

Saturday morning pre-game wasn't too different from Friday night, with a few more fights (OSU fans amongst themselves, mind you.)

Saturday after the game (which they won, and it wasn't even a "big" game) brought out the arsonists, more fighting, lots of public indecency, and more cops.

And the guys from our chapter there told us that was a "pretty tame" weekend.

I would think that a main rival would be more hated then a team thats has only played each other a handful of times.. I realize the last 3 times hasn't been the outcome you wanted but still surprising to me that the hate for OSU would be more then USC or even UM in alot of ND fans.. Think if you took poll from OSU fans that ND wouldn't be on top spot or even second..

Yeah, they're right up there with band wagon USC fans, and any/all SEC fans. Well, maybe not Vandy.

Notre Dame is a national university, so ND fans might even hate LaTech or Howard. ND is independent, which allows it to play all over the country, and not get used to "hating" a certain rival. As an athlete myself (smalltime and insignificant) I started to love my rivals who we played every year, in whatever sport it was. We actually became friends.

That said, as a fan, I don't care much for Oregon State, or any of Jimmy Johnson's teams (former U of Miami and Dallas Cowboy head coach). I always want USC and Michigan to go undefeated until they play ND.
