This is all under discussion in the Other Football section under "Realignment, Superconference" thread.

This is going to be interesting. Four super conferences, PAC 16 (?), ACC (16), Big 1G (16), SEC.....??????. Whatever happens there is bound to be some lawsuits.

I would guess Notre Dame, Texas, and maybe Oklahoma would team up to drive the conversation as to how their TV deals remain in tact (to some extent) while still giving the conferences their revenue streams.

Can Notre Dame, Texas, and Oklahoma force their independence on the super conferences by forcing a championship series (BCS?) that includes them in the bowls or playoffs? Maybe, if they can still create schedules that suit all of the parties involved.

There are so many possibilities, bet there are lots of back room conversations.

I personally kind of hate all of this. Seems like college football will be a continually changing landscape for a long time.

Losing Pitt and Syracuse hurts the Big East basketball wise. The Big East Tournament won't be the same. Football wise, I think the Big East can survive. Start by welcoming back Temple but with news Baylor and Iowa State are interested should the B12 dissolve, they will be fine. Syracuse and Pitt haven't offered anything football wise that a team like Baylor can't fix.

Big East will die as a football conference but will live on as a basketball one. The 7 or 8 basketball only schools can add 4 or 5 solid mid-majors and still be a great conference. Add Butler, Xavier, Saint Louis, Temple in all sports except football, and George Mason and it's a fantastic basketball conference.

Wonder if UConn will follow Syracuse and Pitt? If they are trying to build the best BBall Conference, they should get UConn on board. Not sure about UConn's academics though.
UCONN academics is fine they are a top 50-75 school nationally.

Also, going to the ACC will really boost ND LAX program! Which, as we already know is darn good.

They said this morning on espn wheh they were talking about this and said that they heard that Uconn and Rutgers could be the next to teams to the ACC.

That would be the death of the Big East then. That would probably lead to West Virginia to the SEC.

If we were to join the ACC for Bball. We would be even farther down on the pecking order than we are (were) in the Big East

I agree the writing on the wall is us going to the Big 10 or what ever they will call it. they just have the wall covered up.

Twitter is a craze with Texas all in to the PAC 12 with Ok, Ok St, and Texas Tech. Could keep LHN and just add PAC 12 content.

California recruiting is about to get real crowded for us if true.

UCONN is frantically scrambling to get into the ACC.

Where do schools like TCU, Louisville, and USF go?

Would it be non AQ? If so, what happens to the Big 12 and Big East auto bids? An extra bid for SEC and Pac12?

I don't think they should have a automatic bid but they are gona have so many average teams that one or two of them are going to be pretty good every year.

Well it sounds like Texas is going to end up in the Pac-12/16. Big Ten seems like our best landing at this point.
