Or we can just stay put and make Texas a early event. Thats what i want. ND wont join a conference to much power.

ND will be forced to join a conference or be left out in the cold. That is the cold hard reality when the Big 12 crumbles. We will have no choice this time.

No that's only true if either the ACC or Big East folds also. You could easily see 5 conferences of ~12-14 teams with 6-10 independents.

I would think that the ACC would stay. I think over all they still have a better program then the Big East. But that also depends on who goes to the SEC.

The Big12 folding is going to cause the other dominoes to collapse as well.

ESPN Insider

College Football Rumors - Rumor Central - NCAA - ESPN

FSU and GT looking outside ACC possibly....FSU already formed a committee to look at their options.

Missouri is confident that if the SEC is looking for a 14th member that they are high on their list...if not then next in line is the ACC...next the Big East....no mention of Big Ten.

Here is what I see things ending up like.

Big Ten adds ND,Mizzou,Pitt and Iowa State.
Big 12 crumbles away.
SEC adds West Virginia,Miami and Florida State.
Pac-12 adds Texas,Texas Tech,Oklahoma and OK State.

Looks like Texas is looking to go indy and park other sports in the ACC. Other rumor is that with the ACC raiding the Big East for Pitt and Syracuse we will park our sports in the ACC also. All rumor at this point.

I don't think the ACC will allow ND pick and choose which sports are played in conference. If ND goes to the ACC they will have to all in.

Thats what the Big East said.... Sorry, but if you are a conference and ND is saying "Heh we'll join you in every sport but Football" you are going to say no? ND is just one of those institutions that has athletics & academics and does them well. Not to mention a rabid fan base. Will more ACC teams be on the schedule, why not? We play BC as it is and have a series with Miami already. BC and a yearly rotation of 1 ACC team.

All rumors people claim to be hearing are nonsense. Notre Dame's first goal is to remain independent. IF, and only if, they can no longer schedule a competitive 12 game season will they join a conference.

Rather join B10 for all other sports because bball in new ACC will be as hard as Big East was.

Don't you think we'd be a better fit accademically in the ACC though?

Yes but in basketball we'd have a really hard time.

UNC
Duke
Syracuse
Pitt
Maryland
Georgia Tech

these 6 are all ahead of us and we are probably around the same as Virginia, Wake Forest, and Fla State. We also don't posses the athletes the ACC has (see ND vs FSU in NCAA second rd) and the B10 fits our style more

I'd much rather have ND in the Big Ten (or whatever it would be called) than the ACC. The rivalries would be better in football and that's what I care about most.

Wouldn't it make sense to join the Big 10 over the ACC because if/when we join a conference for football it will most likely be the big 10?

I think he is saying that he is the guy in the yellow vest crossing his arms and is a Big Ten trustee...at least that is what I got from the pic.

Wonder if UConn will follow Syracuse and Pitt? If they are trying to build the best BBall Conference, they should get UConn on board. Not sure about UConn's academics though.

for the most part yes it would be a good fit...we relate more closely with a wake forest and duke than we do most of the big east schools...either way i wanna kick some ***

I don't think Syracuse and Pitt will make the ACC all that great. You put Texas in there and I'll still take the Big 10. More prestige football wise.
