So A QB can cuss their coach out on tv, then have daddy complain about playing time, and then start the next week? Sorry... but I think Sumlin's decision making here could really hurt his program going forward.

Sounds like changing times, the younger generation gets all these participation trophies today and they get told how they're a unique snowflake and special. Parents actually show up to job interviews and sit in with their kids. Ridiculous.

To go off subject al little, I'm 39 and remember getting my first "participation trophy" in 1981. I played sports all year from then, thru high school and seemed to get some sort of "participation award" (a trophy or medal or jv/varsity letter) every year. I never really had/have a problem with recognizing a kid for being part of the team all year, after all isn't that what a varsity letter represents (I know you usually have to play a certain amount of minutes).

I just always hear about this seemingly "new generation" with their participation trophies. It's been going on for at least 35 years (I'm sure longer). What does seem to be getting worse is the "helicopter parents".

Had a similar situation with a wrestling team I coached. A kid that was fat, lazy, and obnoxious was promised a match. His mom was the head of the school board, so my hand was forced. He pissed me off (more than usual) in a practice leading up to his match, so I didn't put him out there. That woman absolutely destroyed and threatened me, even after an explanation of the situation, until I was forced to put him in the next one. Some parents are truly awful human beings.
