Since everyone else is apparently too drunk or too asleep or both…

Mixed feelings on this game. First half was brilliant. Second half was a slog, but we still averaged nearly ten yards per play, worked a bunch of second and third stringers into the mix, and won decisively. Obviously the playoff committee looms large, but this was a good end to the regular season.

And it was a hell of a run to end the year. Something clicked at halftime against Purdue and this team has been elite ever since. I think this squad can beat anyone in the country, and I hope they get a chance to prove it. Incredibly excited about what MF is building here.

Something that is kind of under the radar…A healthy Devonta Smith against TAMU and Notre Dame wins that game. Might have beaten Miami as well if Smith was healthy and played. Damn shame…DeVonta Smith has really impressed me the final quarter of the season.

We won by 29 on the road against the P4 team while mailing it in in the second half. First half was absolutely dominant. Not going to have many complaints.

If 2024 and 2025 ND were to play on a neutral field, I think I’d probably take this year’s team. Just are so so complete and have such a big margin for error since we have so many ways to beat you.

Don’t take how dominant we were for granted, the last two years are the best ND teams since the early 90s.

On top of this, you’ll never convince me that A&M would have drove the way they did at the end were it not for the bullshit Shuler targeting ejection

I guess the game time scheduling really caught most posters in bed. Watching the game now. Not finished with the third quarter. Just scored again and went up 42-3. Don’t think it will be a good look to finish this 49-20. Miami was throwing deep balls with 45 seconds left to beat Pitt 37-7. I’m going to assume we go soft on D and conservative on offense as we only put up another 7. Can’t imagine Minchey looked that great. Hopefully the committee gets that we outs in the backups while Miami was working hard to pass their numbers. If the rest of this game is going to be a 17-7 Stanford effort I might just pass on the rest.

Also bummer Love couldn’t get more PT. He would have easily had 120 yards and 2-3 TDs. Huge ding in his Heisman chances. Wonder if Pavia will be scored down since he is around 26 now.

Did Freeman get trolled in the press conference - he got asked three times the same question about NDs resume? I think the third time the dude was taking the piss. Freeman's reaction was sort of funny (flabergasted) but I wouldn't have minded if he snapped properly at the kid.

We won the game that had to be won. Love and the o line started out really strong. The running game stayed strong all game. ND showed that we do have the best running back room in College football.

The passing game stats don’t paint an accurate picture IMO. And I thought this was one of the few games the rushing o line was better than the passing o line.

The fake punt was awesome and a huge play early on.

Moore was killing it for the first 15 minutes then after that along with the entire defense not good.

There were a few drives that I thought Dembrock killed the momentum with his play calling.

The game time, the announcers, the luck interview and the 4th play were terrible.

We absolutely have no faith in our FG kickers. We literally only have 3/4 of a special teams unit.

Again IMO when you have to make a statement you have to at least cover which didn’t happen.

Another very good season. Freeman has built a great foundation here and is consistently improving on it. I know it’s a good sign when coaches get promoted but I think we need to keep this group together.

I think I would take 2025 offense with 2024 defense and special teams.

I know they're young men, but man that 2nd half blow out and timezone change could not have been easy lol

Funny enough, this is the type of game where Kelly's team would not jump out big early and would be 4 quarters of football with a 13 point win lol

- First half was exactly what we needed.
- Would've preferred we kept the pedal down in second half but clearly were just trying to get through it.
- Appears like offense just isn't going to give up anything creative before playoffs.
- Announcers were truly unwatchable, with the game in hand early in the second quarter the ENTIRE broadcast was "ND trying to score style points" when that just wasn't really the case at all.
- Crazy to be in a position where I walk away from the game feeling pissed off about a 29-point win.

I know you’ve been around for a while so I chuckled when I read this. Something a newbie to the board would say. We’ve got 15 pages of 2nd half complaints in the game thread alone. Agree w everything else you posted. This is a complete team. Go Irish.

Announcers were annoying. Both could not bring themselves to admitting ND should make the playoffs. Miami and various others thrown out as better. Considering their entire audience was probably ND fans it was a pretty ludicrous conversation to have.
Showing the comparative scores vs Pitt without pointing out what happened at the end of those two games was a pretty egregious omission

I really think the game time played a huge role in that second half. Internal clocks take a while to adjust, and our team's was saying it was after 1 AM in the fourth quarter. When the game is already a blowout, it's understandable our guys ended up being a step slow.

Again - I truly don't think it matters. We blew them out just like we needed to.

The conspiracy theorist in me has been right about a lot of things, and I believe this was the ACC's plan all along.

I think this is 100% truth, the super late game time combined with the fact that it’s human nature in a player’s mind that when it’s a blowout you are going to naturally ease up mentally.
