I was at the game last weekend in michigan and the crowd was rocking. I think that the music they played helped the crowd get in to it and the scoreboards were awesome we need video scoreboards and to play music

And I'm pretty sure that UscuM has some tradition and some wins from the past, no??? They were able to stomach the 21'st century changes were they???

Times, they are a'changin...... Get used to it traditionalists.

When they added the 20,000 back in the 90s, they designed it so that another 20,000 seat bowl could be added when they felt it was needed.

HOWEVER, the upper bowl at the stadium has been crushing the original lower bowl. Note that season tickets cost so much because of the "Stadium Fee," which is going toward preventing the lower bowl from any further damage. In due time, though, ND Stadium will hold 100,000. There are some othercrucial problems though: hotel accommodations, parking, etc. One day, though, it will happen. I'd venture to say it will happen within the next 15-20 years. If you made me guess, I'd say 10.

I truly think it all depends on our "return to glory". I think BK is the man for the job, and when he gets us back to a national powerhouse winning a couple NCs, is when a revamp and and an expansion will happen. So I tend to agree with you saying within 10 years. But we'll see...

Yes that was what I was trying to show. But it doesnt help when other schools have a lot more students and tickets do not cost nearly what they cost at ND. Most younger fans cant afford to go see a game at ND. More young people, less old people= LOUD and NASTY crowd. But then the ushers will be 20x what they are now.

Obviously, we'll always have older fans since we only graduate ~2000 students per year. Tickets are also very expensive and sometimes too expensive for younger alumni. It would definitely help if older people would sit higher up so the younger fans (and older fans) who want to stand and cheer can without fear of being yelled at. I also hate that the ND crowd can never coordinate a color. Why doesn't everyone buy the Shirt and wear it?! It's not that hard! I can't wait till the USC night game. Then we'll see how loud ND stadium can get (past old folks' bedtimes).

Bottom line: ND's opponents playing at ND, are not intimidated by the crowd.

Notre Dame Entrance 2009 season - YouTube

compared to:

Virginia Tech- Enter Sandman - YouTube

No contest.....I think VT players get a little more fire in them than ND players. Think of it through the players eyes.

Yeah they got fired up but then Boise kicked there *** in the first quarter haha. pre-game doesn't mean anything. It's all about flipping that switch when you get on the field.

I love it-if they can jam 100,000 into little towns in the south South Bend should be able to handle it. Lots of people stay 1 hr away and drive in to the game. I really like the collesium look and the effect of old 'Soldier Field.

This is literally the best thing they can do to the stadium. The guy who did this is pretty good with Sketchup or whatever he used because this is excellent. Not only that but the renovation probably wouldn't be too expensive for ND since it's just adding suites and a video board and some other minor things, and it would make so much money with sweets. And of course, they would get the quiet fans up in the suites.

Also if they did this they could change the yellow seats into more benches and increase seating. I love this idea and it's a shame it will probably never happen.

Not sure where to put this (so mods if you have a better place, go for it), but a guy on II posted this picture from inside the stadium. The nets behind the goal posts will have the leprechaun on them. I think it looks pretty killer.

Look at the extra white above the arms. Obvious sign it was shopped.

I don't like it, it needs to be transparent from behind.

Still think that bagpipers marching out of the tunnel to "Scotland the Brave" would be epic. Bagpipers stop at the goalposts, music crescendos and fades, as the team comes out from the tunnel to the victory march. Imagine until about the 1:27 mark in this video. This would work. I guarantee.
