We still don't have a real slot receiver. (Maybe Love or Edwards but wouldn't count on them next year). With the right QB Tyree could be a hell of a weapon there. He could transfer somewhere and maybe be RB1 but that's not his future in the NFL regardless. Stick with us, be a leader, and take screens and slants all the damn way.

Just keep him in the loop with the running back room you can use him as your primary slot guy but if you get a wild look from the defense he still has enough experience you could motion him to the backfield and he could still be a weapon from there. Hell, he would still be very effective in the two back sets. There is still plenty of use for him. I would say though, unless Mason can work with him a lot we do need to find a new kick off returner.

Just spitballing here but the players listed below are the group that would not surprise me if they moved on. Not saying I think they all will, just wouldn't be surprised if they did.

7) Chris Tyree, Sr.
37) Andrew Kristofic, Sr. (RS)
61) Jordan Botelho, Sr.
77) Justin Walters, Jr. (RS)
80) Philip Riley, So. (RS)
81) Ryan Barnes, So. (RS)
82) Chance Tucker, So. (RS)
88) Jayden Bellamy, So. (RS)

I could also see one TE and Justin A be added to this list also.

I understand why people believe Kristofic to be a transfer candidate. He was a starter last season, came back and rode the bench this year. Truly be no fault of his own, he just wasn't going to beat out Patterson or Lugg, and Correll was the guy who had experience taking game snaps at center. He was not one of the five best, but was not far behind either.

There are two open guard spots next season. Sure, there is quite the list of options to choose from... Coogan, Schrauth, Spindler, Kristofic himself, as well as maybe some outside guys like Caleb Johnson and Michael Carmody will get snaps there. It's all about finding the five best. What Kristofic has that the others don't is experience.

Now, I believe that if after spring practice has concluded, and he still hasn't locked down a starting spot, then maybe he could decide to transfer out in the late spring/early summer. But, he's going to compete first.

Prister mentioned that the roster cuts will be for injury related OR non-productivity reasons. We are basically cutting players stuck down the depth chart. I could see these guys in jeopardy.

Powlus
Berrong
Schweitzer
Barnes
Riley
Tucker
Walters

I want our two guards to both be 6’3-6’5 and 320+ lb road graders. We need the ability to move bodies on 3rd and 4th and short…even more important with the limitations of offense we are running right now and are likely to be in for next year ad well regardless of transfer QB.

Think Tucker was getting some snaps. Would keep him. Barnes is worth another year. Agree with everyone else

I think your guards will come from Ty Chan, Billy Schrauth or Craig. You could also see them move Blake Fisher inside and have your RT be Baker if he stays or AAmil Wagner who I heard looked good this year in practice

He's too undersized to have a future as a traditional wr in the nfl. Maybe as an increasingly popular "wideback." He has world class speed though.

NFL is more open to undersized players so if he makes the move to the slot, should be interesting to see his future.

I'm gonna incur a gag reflex from saying this.

But Michigan's guards don't fit that profile. Both Zinter and Keegan are 6'6 and sub 320. Keegan is barely 300 himself. Doesn't make them less of road graders.

I'd also like for massive road graders, but if the guy who's 6'5 300 can get off the line with lightning quick speed and dominate his man and chip someone, I'm all for that too. More than one way to skin a cat.

Ideally, I want a guy who can just shoot off the line, and beat his man and chip guys by any means necessary. I'd seen 6'7 340 monsters who couldn't move jack, and I've seen 6'2 285 shrimps push guys 30+ pounds bigger than them around like they're tackling dummies. If they're 6'6 325, all the better.

IE '23 roster poll: If you could only have one, would you rather take the 2020 version of Brandon Joseph or freshman Peyton Bowen?

And her I am hoping you transfer to another board before the start of the '23 season
Who did I project to leave that you think is worthy of staying? I’d like Tyree to stay, but I don’t see it. Everyone else is “mid” as the kids would say.

It's more about it being in poor taste to just plainly hope that certain kids leave, just because they aren't great players.
