Irish showed alot of heart today. More than I've seen in quite some time. We had our chance at the end.....just didn't happen. Any Weis hater HAS to see the difference in this team. I mean.....SC was up by 3 scores and we had a chance to tie the game at the end??? It sucks losing, but I'm not that dejected. I can honestly say that I see progress. It would've been great to play them with Floyd in the lineup, but such is life. I hate SC though. They're a bunch of loose cannons on defense.

Our team played inconsistently, they made some great plays and some not so great but they never stopped competing.

Close but I didn't think so. The second defender made a smart play pushing him out of bounds. Great concentration by Kyle, if the field was a couple of inches wider it would have been a TD.

And, I think you throw 2 fades to Kyle instead of the second slant to Tate which is the dumbest call ever.

Since we got a 3rd play, it should have went to Rudolph coming out of the TE position on an out route.

Jimmy would have had an easy TD if he waits 2 seconds til Rudolph is open in the middle!!!

Until we realize theres 4 quarters in a football game we will never beat teams like SC. We lost this game in the 1st 3 quarters. What Jimmy & Co. did in the 4th was nothing short of amazing (even I thought it was over when we went down 3 scores at the top of the fourth) but we have to stop getting behind the 8 ball like this & expecting to win every game. We also can't keep passing on putting points on the board. Once again Charlie passes on the easy 3 points & completely ignores the consequences it has to his teams momentum to march down the field, turn the ball over on downs & come up empty handed.

I feel better about the team than I have in recent years but I'm still stick to stomach.

That was just a bad, bad decision by CW. You HAVE to take the points. That's one of the plays that haunts me. How many times have we seen them get stonewalled and then watch the other team score? We have a reliable kicker. TAKE THE POINTS. The other thing Charlie needs to do is recruit like hell for the defense. Need all the players they can get. The defense may still be two years away though, unfortunately.

I just don't understand how anyone could say this. Last year, we got blown out 38 to 3. We didn't even get a fucking first down until the 3rd quarter. This year, we're 4 yards from going into OT with one of the best teams in the country.

Yes, that Southern Cal team was better than this one... yes they were in LA for that last game... but how can anyone not see how different this team is from last year?

You take the #6 team in the country down to the last second of the game, even after being down 21 in the fourth quarter... and you think this team is bad? Mediocre? If mediocre teams can do that, I'd like to strive to be mediocre every year.

Sure, I wish they would've won, and I feel sick right now. My wife just called and after mumbling answers to whatever she was saying, she said, "Don't sound like someone in the family just died."

But c'mon... this team is not bad. Like CW said in his post game press conference, if you'd said we'd have the ball inside the 5 at the end of the game with a chance to tie it against USC, wouldn't you have said 'Hell yes, I'll take that!'? I know I would've. Hell, I predicted USC to win by 22.

You never want to be proud of a loss. But there's no reason to feel ashamed after a game like this.

Bad? Mediocre? This team just might be pretty good.

what have they done all year.......3 of the four wins were late, come from behind wins against nothing more than average teams. Those games were won by a team with heart....not a BCS contender. Maybe I was a little harsh saying the "team" was bad. More appropriate to say the "coaching" is bad. I am sick of seeing them struggle week-in and week-out for the entire Weiss regime. How long are we gonna keep saying "wait til next year"? I thought from all the hype "this" year was supposed to be the year! I'm tired of holding my breath every week against the likes of MSU, BC, Stanford, etc, etc.
This game was close becuae of the heart Ckausen and the team have......nothing more. I don't want close!!!!

I totally disagree. TOTALLY disagree. You trot the Froshman out there to try a 45 plus yard field goal into the wind. He misses, it was still an empty possession.
