odd they will not focus on his first or last year at all as if those years never happened.

Those were the non Tebow years. Which has me worried that this thing could be very slanted in terms of showing it all in a favorable light.

He got piss pounded in his first and last seasons by Alabama in the regular season, too.

You’d think they’d cover how it ended And began,… I suspect you may be right

Could be, but I’d argue that the story is that a wears it on his sleeve Bible thumper was the QB and undisputed leader of one of the wildest collections of nasty MFers since the Hurricanes were at the height of their powers.

They could make a whole documentary on Will Hill.
Just adapt Spencer Hall’s “The Happy Football Life of Will Hill” blog series for the screen.

It should be entertaining to say the least. It'll be even better if they don't slant it one way or the other and just make it true.

I come away from the Netflix doc liking him even less, but I do think he has mental problems. I'm pretty competitive, I know a lot of competitive people, but there is something very much wrong with him that a man who was in his early 40s had to take two ambien and wash it down with a beer to get four hours of sleep every night. He really had zero joy being in the profession, which isn't necessarily uncommon, but what was he really coaching for in the first place if it made him that miserable and unhealthy?

It doesn't matter. He won way more games than he lost and that's what people value. It's the reason so many people wanted him to come to ND and for a long time people wouldn't let go of it. Some people still haven't, though less than previously I believe. Seeing what he did at BGSU and Utah as quickly as he did it, you knew he had something. The sad thing is that as driven as he was he probably could have won a title at ND even without cutting corners and taking the low road with the wind at his back like he did at Florida and Ohio State.

At what cost? IDK, ND probably goes on probation after he leaves and he probably doesn't live to see 50.

I think urban Meyer came off as a very strong personality. He doesn’t tolerate losing well at all. Similar to Nick Saban and Bob Knight.

I sometimes worry that Marcus Freeman may be too nice and wonder if Notre Dame program trains as hard as the other elite programs.

I'm starting to think you're a psychopath.

He comes off as a "strong personality" that MF should aspire to?

Are you a fucking lunatic?

Ah pop psych! Love it. My point of concern still stands.

What's pop? Show me the pop.

There's no pop.

If you think Urban's personality is something you want coaches to aspire to... I believe, you... in my years of training and experience... may have psychopathic tendencies. Win at all cost... to be damned what those costs may be to young men's lives.

Urban didn't give one solitary FUCK about kids who were spinning right out of control... many times leading to violence, people getting hurt, and sometimes murder.

Ain't no pop about it.

Just watched the 1st episode. The SEC is just different, it has to be kind of awesome as a fan/citizen who can cut out all of life's distractions and truly live and die for college football. I don't think outsiders will ever get it. I'm so ready for CFB. No opinion on Meyer after 1 ep, other than he's one of the greatest to ever do it.

What do you disagree with? Or don't you have anything to actually say?

The SEC is incredible and rather than take shots at it that will never land, people should appreciate it while it lasts. Who knows the future of CFB.

What do I disagree with? How about living and dying with college football and cutting out life’s distractions. You know, those pesky things like work and family. No opinion of Urban Meyer? The guy is a complete dirtbag. I’m assuming you are a child or have the mentality of one. I hope you grow up one day and realize there’s more to life.

It's a football documentary. About football.

It was an Urban Meyer fluff piece. It was even worse than I thought it would be
It really was. I ended up enjoying the football parts of it, reliving those games because I watched so many of them. They really did have some great games during that period.

The way it was framed makes him look like an overly competitive genius. I think he ended up getting the recruiting part of it right more than anything else. He knew he needed better players for his systems to work. They had an absolutely incredible staff as well. Addazio, Holliday, Mullen and Strong all went on to become head coaches.

It’s a pathetic joke that grinds through young boys for a game leaving the majority broken and uneducated. They make hundreds of millions off the backs of child labor, they cheat, and really don’t do much good but churn out football teams and that’s only like 3 schools. I mean if all you respect is fricking game and win at all costs sure I guess you can respect that.

Is he worse than any other coach who did the same things but simply couldn't win the players a national championship, thus inviting the spot light?

I'm not interviewing him to babysit my children. I appreciate his greatness as a coach, as do I with Saban.

Who was the recruit that he just sat in a room with and stared at in silence for ten or fifteen minutes? Will Hill or someone like that?

If I'm a parent or HS coach, I'm up the fuck outta there.
