All - I have a friend who is on guard (he is former military) and on lockdown on campus in a classroom right now, dont know where, but he asked that i forward any info to him as I see it to help keep him informed. Please post anything you hear so i can relay it to him.

Shelter in place has been lifted.

Rumor is 1 dead, 5 injured.

EDIT: Update from press conference is 1 suspect in custody, one person dead, no other related injuries reported. Appeared to be a targeted incident rather than a mass shooting incident.

Shooting Reported on University of Oklahoma Campus | NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
The University of Oklahoma in Norman is reporting a shooting on campus Wednesday.

A message posted to Twitter and on the university's web page said a shooting had taken place on campus and that Gould Hall, a building that houses the College of Architecture on the Van Vleet Oval, should be avoided.

Those at the university were advised to shelter in place until further notice.

At this time, no further information is known.

Per the news this morning, the shooting at Purdue was personal and the victim was the only intended target.

Cousins and Boldt were undergraduate teaching assistants in electrical and computer engineering. They were assistants for classes taught by Professor David Meyer.

Purdue Police Chief John Cox said the exact relationship between the suspect and the victim is unknown, and he said there has been "little to no cooperation with the individual we took into custody."

Cox said Cousins went outside the building after the shooting and waited for police to arrest him. He did not resist and was not armed. Cox said the suspect targeted only the victim.
