I like Freeman, but it was lazy. Doesn't mean it is good..

But to say only the players wanted him simply isn’t true. I don’t remember a single ND fan that didn’t want Freeman above all at the time. The mention of Fickell or Matt Campbell (yuck) was met with major disgust

It’s not just that play. It’s his whole career, the same thing that he never can make a big play. So we blame the QB for all his struggles and drops then.
On the sideline shot play that him in the back of the helmet I immediately had PTSD flashbacks to Purdue last season when he dropped a wide open TD.

The Brian Kelly/Tommy Rees era of picking qb’s is horrendous! Wide open Lenzy and he can’t air it out? We really haven’t had a true QB since Clausen. Facts
Rees has picked up Styles, Colzie, and Merriweather. Colzie is hurt, Merriweather will see the field soon. Lenzy and the rest are on BK

Let's stop pretending lenzy is a good receiver too. He's been the same his whole career here. Track star. That needs plays drawn up for him in order to be a playmaker. He'll never be able to do anything on his own. That play was drawn up and the QB shot an inaccurate missile that many division 2 QBs could've dotted with ease. Bottom line Buchner ain't the answer but he's the best we got. Hopefully we can get bowl eligible for the extra practices

"We're half way there, living on a prayer." Is not a good lyric for ND players to be shown singing when they are losing to Marshall half way through a football game. Just my $0.02.

Fans should never pick a coach, thus that does not matter.

Imagine looking at your WR room and thinking “I think we’re good.” Couldn’t be me.
I mean....for one, guys have to want to come here.

Two, it's unlikely a transfer receiver is making much of a difference. The issue is talent, and picking some Freddy Canteen from Vanderbilt isn't helping our situation.

ND needs to just NOT whiff on several recruiting classes like they did.

That’s a walk in TD but Buchner throws a laser that middies by 2 steps. Feel like we are back in the Wimbush era minus the good OL play.
Yep. Buchner is the new Wimbush, we have Book 2.0 on the bench (Pyne). The only thing left is for someone to start calling CJ, “5* Carr”. Feels like 2017.

Pyne isn't close to book but I understand the analogy.

I agree. This is why I was kinda hoping he'd move on last year and people didn't understand why. Even with depth issues I'd rather have a freshman out there getting reps. Lenzy is not a WR.

I wonder if Lincoln Riley would have bolted for ND like he did for USC.

On that pass that hit him in the helmet even Jason Garret made a statement that Lenzy didn’t even compete for the jump ball. That’s the problem with Lenzy is that he is just not a WR.

This is really bad. I’m not spending money on the Clemson game. Was going to drop some big cash to go. No freakin way. I’ll Cheer from the TV. Willingham will be replaced eventually.

Man, this offense is hard to watch. It’s like all the position groups decide to screw up at the worst times. Im thinking it’s not any one thing, rather it’s the total package including the coaching.

They're both bad but I'm more disappointed in the D than the O so far. A big test for our leadership this half. They've been bragging about it let's see it.

This isn't on MF yet. This is, as far as I can see, on Rees.

If it took till the end of the 2nd Q to realize that maybe running TB in read options and looking to MM is our best shot... which will open up downfield opportunities... if it took him that long to figure it out?

Hes not terribly good at calling football plays.
