i think it is a safe assumption that usc will be in the top 25 tomorrow after its win vs stanford which will mean that ND has beaten 3 teams that will be ranked in the top 25 (sparty, asu and usc)
only one other team in college football has beaten 3 top 25 teams and that is Stanford.
3 teams have beaten 2 (georgia, the gamecock and bama)
yes ND played a horrible game and lost to pitt, but beating 3 top 25 teams in a season isn't too shabby, especially when you consider what the team has gone through since the season has started and what we have at QB. I admire Rees for sticking around and his accomplishments at ND. He just isn't what Kelly needs for his system and Martin needs to stop calling plays as if he has Golson out there.
People need to look at the big picture here and really think about what the team has lost compared to last season and look at the MASH unit that ND has fielded for most of the season and also think about the fact that Kelly has really only had his kind of QB for one season in his four years at ND. Next year he gets that QB back. Yes there will be questions about who takes Nixs' spot and ILB could be a question mark also. But the offense should be very good.
Kelly wasn't given the reputation of being a program builder, he earned it and let's remember and admit that ND hasn't been consistent for nearly 20 years. That doesn't get done over night. Bama hasn't always been the top of the heap. Saban had to build that program up too. Even he has lost to a team that was a "WTF" moment.
People really need to relax and quit acting like last season was a fluke and this season is the 'real' ND. Take a few deep breaths and really think about what has transpired for the past 6 months with the program
