I don't think anyone is saying there will be a perfect world if guns weren't allowed... Chances are a lot of crazy people could still get their hands on guns. But if gun laws had even the slightest impact on preventing people from having guns... Not sure how you can argue against that one. If the murderer's mother did not have guns in her possession, isnt there a likely chance that the kid wouldn't have the access to those guns and bring them to the school? If guns laws had even the smallest chance of preventing the massacre from yesterday, would you not implement those laws?
Look. I'm a 20 year college student. Many of you are grown men. It is not my place to tell anyone what's right or wrong, nor do I know what's right and wrong. But I do know that if my 9 year old little sister was one of those who lost their lives, I'm not sure how I would get through the rest of my life. There is no reason to have military style weapons accessible to citizens IMO. I think there is a strong possibility that with guns laws the massacre would not have occurred yesterday.
Point taken, but i don't think you're asking the right question. Regardless of how many or what type guns the mother owned she should have been a responsible parent and had the guns locked up in a gun safe. Not only to prevent something like this, but so no one could steal them. I grew up around guns and was taught at a early age to respect them. Like i said in a previous post, it is not the gun that is the issue. It is our society, and lack of responsibility people want to take anymore.
It's so much easier in a moment of tragedy to point blame at every thing possible except the real issue. It is just peoples mentality now. Example, when i grew up if you had a problem with someone and it came to a physical altercation you shot each other a square one. Meaning both of you would fight, either you won or lost or it was a draw and thats it.... Nobodies posse would jump you, no one would get stabbed, no one would get shot... Times have changed drastically..
