It's great if Russia finally ends this, but I'll believe it when I see it. We were told by media years ago that Russia was tapped on resources, that they were losing ground and that all their experienced troops were basically wiped and they were having to rush newbies to the front lines in desperation. Those same CNN experts say that despite economic problems in Russia they think Putin can muddle along with the war for a few more years still, so maybe they're wrong again or maybe they're right. Sanctions haven't deterred him yet, and they think he's doing well enough selling oil with the situation in Iran right now that he can keep the war afloat.

It appears they are escalating attacks on Kyiv. Unless this is like a pot shot out the door, there’s no indication Russia is backing down.
It’s a strategy call. Either drag on and hope Ukraine breaks or stop the war- rebuild, think, and plan your next poke, because he isn’t done.

Ukraine for the most part has air superiority over the battlefield with their drones. Russian logistics is a complete mess due to it. Russia can hammer Kyiv with their high end missiles. Battlefield lines aren't moving much at all due to all the drones in the air. Russia will need to ask for peace otherwise they will just keep bleed men and oil refineries

I think Putin is willing to do that. Remember anyone with a little authority that disagrees with Putin seem to either develop this need to see if they can defy the law of gravity from a balcony.
