So glad that cops today were told they can choke someone to death and not even have to face a trial. That's going to make this country so much better.

The psychopath who murdered Garner waving at the camera after he took a man's life.

You told me why Darrien Hunt deserved to die because you believed the cop's story. He was on hallucinogens (he wasn't) and he swung his toy sword at a cop, so it's okay he was shot in the back.

Bullsh!t I did. I never said he deserved to die. But you go ahead and keep on living in your lala land, where everyone is trying to kill you because you are black.

You're talking about this one, right?

First I've seen this one (Funny how the media hasn't blasted it), but it doesn't change the fact the kid was stupid. It's a shame he had to be shot, but I understand given the fact the 3 matched descriptions of a group that was waving a gun around in the area, and the kid failed to obey the officer's orders and even smarted off. Does that justify being shot? No, but if I was an officer and had information that pointed to the guy having a gun...and he refuses to take his hands out of his pockets? Yeah, I'd probably shoot too.

I don't understand, no matter your color, why it's so difficult to obey an officer's commands. If they're shouting at you, and they have a gun drawn, I'd get my ass on the ground asap.

Because we saw today how much it mattered being on camera in New York. Cops can't be charged with a crime in New York anymore.

True, but half the battle is having their actions exposed on camera.

Like... what if there was no video of Eric Garner's killing? Then you wouldn't have any of this. There'd be a simple police report saying that an overweight man resisted arrest and died... and no one in the general public would have any idea how fucked the handling was by the police.

BECAUSE there is video we DO know... and people can show they won't stand for it and demand reforms.

Is it a fix? No. Is it a step in the right direction? Absolutely. It can only help with accountability and maybe prevent future deaths.

I'm thrilled about it, but today changed my notion on what we will need to do to get peace from cops. I don't think it will ever happen.

Today sucked for everyone, especially the racists who were wanted more black people to riot to justify their awful beliefs.

Beating Rodney King got an indictment at least. Maybe Ben Carson is right and evolution is a lie. Clearly this isn't evolving.

Should cops stop responding to low income neighborhoods? Seems as the citizens don't want their protection there.

Change can't be made by me joining the police force. If I call someone out I'll just be harrassed and threatened. Taking to the streets like they're doing now will make the most difference. Disrupt lives until black people are allowed to live.

Yeah I'm the one full of hate, not the people who go out of their way to tell black people to quit being lazy or thugs or the people who will defend killer cops no matter what

Some of these people getting shot are asking for it. I haven't followed all these cases, although the rookie that shot Rice certainly seemed premature (Even though it's a stupid idea to bring a pellet gun to the park, especially with no indication on the gun that it's a toy). Some of these other cases though? Reaching into a cop's car and fighting with him is never a good idea. Swinging a sword at a cop is definitely never a good idea (Ornamental or not, stupid move to leave it up to the cops to decide if it's dangerous or not). Talking back, walking away from a cop, and failing to take your hands out of your pants when a cop orders you to is never a good idea. In those three cases lethal force could have been avoided if the person had some respect for law enforcement and followed instructions. I sympathize with some of these deaths, but I have a hard time finding much sympathy for people that disrespect the law and can't follow simple instructions.
