People are more concerned about property than human lives, and that's a huge problem that rioting has shown. There's 1 million excuses for killing an unarmed person but no excuses for rioting because of it.

I actually think Wilson should have been indicted for some form of manslaughter and his case should be taken to trial. I think America faces significant police militarization issues and that there is no way the entire exchange should have ended with an unarmed citizen dead on the street.

However, this case from a legal perspective is about as clear as mud. I wasn't in Wilson's head and can't speak to the intricacies of the situation when it happened. The only people that I am certain are criminals are the looters and arsonists from yesterday. That's inarguable and clear as day.

The president is one out of millions of black men, most of whom have no power. Obama had to overcome bigotry, and his immense intelligence and charisma helped him do that. He's an exceptional person, and being able to single out one person shows how little representation there is.

Moral of the story....Shoot teenagers that steal from a store. Say he violently approached a cop and you are good to go.

Violent criminal may be a little overboard. Haha

That's not coming from one side. It's coming more from the other side, who ignore that stealing rillos isn't a death sentence.
Nobody is saying "it's okay to shoot a guy for stealing." What they are saying is, "in a he-said-she-said situation, I'm inclined to believe the guy who WASN'T stealling 'rillos'."

I didn't know that was a death sentence. Thank God we are gunning down thieving 18 year olds in the street over some rillos.

No but when you attack a police officer and reach inside his squad car a few times, can't blame him for defending himself.

News flash: most white people have no power, too. I sure don't.

Obama had to overcome bigotry, and his immense intelligence and charisma helped him do that.
Lol.

He's an exceptional person, and being able to single out one person shows how little representation there is.
I'm not singling out "one person" who has power. He's singled out by the fact that he is singularly the most powerful man on the planet. He's not a lone black business owner or politician or media figure. He's at the TOP of the pyramid.

So when it comes to killing and still cigars, the stealing of cigars is worse.

The prosecutor held a press conference to discredit the witnesses and victim. This prosecutor's entire family is cops. This is why a special prosecutor was needed for any semblance of justice.

You do realize that the US Justice department under orders from the President were reviewing all evidence and keeping an eye on the matter to make sure it was handled properly!

The President is a pussy who is afraid to do anything about this because he thinks he's up for re-election or something.

Brown was walking away when he was first shot.... From Wilson's Testimony:
"Twelve shots were fired by Wilson. Wilson said two shots were fired during a struggle at his police vehicle and that he then fired three bursts of gunfire as he chased and then backed away from Brown. "

So if running away won't stop the shooting, mine as well turn around and try to stop it yourself. Just my opinion.

White people have more opportunities to gain power because they are not discriminated against by anyone significant.
Have you ever worked in an actual company? Because I can tell you right now, in board rooms across the country, executives are going out of their way to hire qualified "diverse" candidates.

Affirmative action is the first attempt by anyone to combat structural racism. It's proven that black people get less callbacks and interview opportunities for identical resumes.

This is a lie. I work with many employers in recruiting. Simply false in my neck of the woods.

And the media coverage changed nothing. Peaceful protests changed nothing. The riots in August were the only thing that did anything, getting a grand jury. Even if the grand jury was rigged by a dirty prosecutor and was apparently filled with morons who believed Wilson when he said that his bullets were giving Michael Brown strength, it's still something.

This grand jury had been paneled and convened before this unfortunate incident. They had already listened to other cases.

You're all for justice and equality, but how can anyone take you seriously when you state something that's not true or you dismiss it because it doesn't fit your line of thinking?

So you haven't ever worked for an actual company. Got it. I imagine you spend your day on social media "community organizing" or some such thing.

It's the prosecutor that rigged it. It was out of the hands of the grand jury. The prosecutor didn't want there to be any chance it went to court.

Lax had it right imo a few pages back in that: Police force and empowerment is being abused and a root of many of these problems. That is what needs to be systematically changed.

I paraphrased but I agree. Racism and abusive police, the two are different imo. It just so happens that this abuse of powers happens to the black community much, much more than any other communities.

Look at that picture and see how "attacked" he was. You're believing a story that makes no sense. Read his testimony.

The result of the altercation doesn't matter, if the police officer feels that they are in danger and the assailant will not cooperate they have the right to protect themselves. I understand your desire to see the man beaten since you are clearly quite opinionated on this subject, but stop referring to it as some sort of prerequisite for the officer to take action.

I understand what you are saying but the officer had no evidence of an attack that justifed using lethal power. He didn't CHOOSE to have a taser which I think should be mandatory. If he would have tasered Brown, this is a non-issue.

If you kill a kid, you should have to at least prove that there was an attack that was "life threatening".
