It looks like:

Robinson - ol
Page-ol
Gray-rb
Robinson -wr
Walker-wr

I think our best bets are the robinsons.

I really think that CW is gonna have to find a late bloomer OL recruit. We are NOT going to get either OL recruit. Page is a southern homebody. Robinson will end up at Nebraska now that Callahan is gone. As for the WR's, I think Robinson is the best chance. I hope we get him. That will close out WR solid. That only leaves OL as a place we will need to fill a hole.

I agree, but then again... does CW want to start offering guys that he wouldn't have offerend before just to fill the gap at OL? Are we really that bare?

Page really loves TN after his offical visit, so I think it is between UT and SC schools

Weisbaby,
Not saying we just throw a guy an offer. If you remember last season, Dever was offered at the end of the season. He was not just given a scholarship, his stock rose a bunch his senior year. The are surely some more of those type guys this season.

I'm not ready to give up on Trevor Robinson just yet. I really think he'll end up at N.D.

I hear ya Jonesman, just expressing the point that I wouldn't want to get players just for the sake of getting players. I feel that this class is something special, and that the recruits around the country sense this as well.... regardless, ND will bounce back next year.

You forgot the possible defensive guys.

Datone Jones (UCLA Soft Verbal) - DE

Kapron Lewis-Moore (Texas A&M Verbal) - OLB/DE

I know ND has still been in contact with both guys and they're trying to set up an official visit with Datone if they can, and Kapron never made his visit because he verbaled to A&M right before he was scheduled to make the vist, but with the coaching changes out there I think we have to consider him in play as well.

As far as the other guys are concerned I do think that ND is basically out on Page, Baldwin, and Harper.

I still think they have a decent shot at T.Robinson. If you'll remember he liked Callahan so it's not like he was waiting around for him to be fired. He just didn't want there to be future turmoil and uncertainty at the head coaching position, and he wants to go somwhere where he'll have a great shot to win the NC.

ND's best shot is with G.Robinson, who is basically down to ND and Oregon and ND is rumored to be leading. They also have a very good chance with D.Walker, it looks as if ND will be in his final 3 or 4 right down to the end and I know that Gallup21 talked to Dayne Crist and a few other commitments about him and they think ND has a very good chance with him. I'm not sure about Cyrus Gray, he still seems like a complete toss up at this point.

I don't think we'll get TRob (I hope I'm wrong), but I do think CW will do all he can in the next two months to finish up strong.

I hate to get lesser guys now just for the sake of getting someone. Is it better to get a 3 star now, as opposed to a 4 star guy in next years class? Alot will depend on who comes back as a 5th year guy. As it stands, without any transfers or 2009 5th year guys returning. We are only looking at 19 open scollies to recruit next year. Personally I would rather see 18-21 kids per class every year. When you have 25 in year X and 11 in year Y 2007 is the kind of season you can expect. I never want to experience another 2007 as an Irish fan.

you only said we have a decent shot.

I put this in his profile the other day.

I personally get the impression that he likes NU more than ND, or is at least more comfortable there. But he has also mentioned that one of his major CFB goals is to win a NC, so the longer Callahan sticks around the more coaching uncertainly there will be which great decreses the chance of a NC, as would a newer unproved HC if Callahan were to be replaced which is something that I think will happen. I think the worst thing for ND would be if NU fired Callahan and were able to replace him with a big name proven coach that will creat a big splash which would cause everyone to start thinking about a NC 3 or 4 years down the road. So basically I think the longer the NU coaching situation drags out the better it is for ND.

I think there will be a bunch of coaching changes and you never know what might happen, even with the "late bloomers".

You were right not to give up on Trevor. I heard that he is signing up w the Irish

Yes, that's a large part of it, but don't get too excited about anyone from '09 yet. From what I've heard none of those three guys have official offers yet, and CW didn't take them too seriously because he thinks they should go throught the recruiting process a little to make sure. I wasn't going to say anything about it at all because I didn't want to start a firestorm of speculation and rumors, but then it came up in the TDJ forum so I had a comment in there about it.

TR is a silent and from what I've been hearing he plans on verballing next weekend when he comes for the banquet. But that's been known for a little while. That wasn't exactly breaking news anymore but this guy didn't already know about it because he's not a ND fan, he just happens to have some major connections inside the ND program.

Talk about the later offers....

I recall Brian Smith was a very late offer and not all were super high on the guy. He was kicking it on the field this year and definitely made his mark!

That's the problem with our recent kickers. They make their mark all too well. Now if only they could make a field goal...
