So you are giving him Credit for the loss to Tulsa last year and USF this year? I would understand the Tulsa game if he wasn't a true freshmen in his first extended play time when he didn't even get to prepare for the game with the first team. As for USF, um he is the reason we almost came back and won that game?

Go ahead and take those loses away. Go ahead and take away such a great defense to cover up some of his killer mistakes. Where do you see his record then?

My heart meds = whiskey!!

You'll be Ok as long as you know who won (most important thing). I have DVR'd some of the games on purpose, found out who won just to save myself from the stress (and today's game was stressful). Watch it and then chime in but the O-line played pretty good as did most of the rest of the team. I don't like to call for a kid to be replaced but we have to be more productive (reason for benching Dayne after 2 qtrs when he got ND in the Red Zone 3 times).

I will indulge this

vs Utah we won 28-3
Tommy was 13/20 129 yards 3 tds and 0 int.

Obviously we win this game as Rees played very well.

vs Army we won 27-3
Tommy was 13/20 214 yards 1 td 1 int.

Tommy played above average and we would still win this game

vs USC we won 20-16
Tommy was 20/32 for 149 yards 2 tds and 3 int

We lost this game

vs Miami
Tommy was 15/29 201 yards 2 tds 0 int

Tommy played well and we win.

Michigan this year we lost 35-31

27/39 315 yards 3 tds 2 int 1 ugly fumble

You could make the arguement if Tommy doesn't fumble we might win. You could also argue if our defense managed to stop them from going the length of the field in 30 seconds we win. Toss up.

Michigan state this year We win 31-13
Tommy was 18/26 161 yards 1 td 1 int and 1 fumble

While our run defense was good, our pass defense left a lot to be desired. We still win.

Not going to do todays game

so that would make him 4-1-1 as a starter not counting today. I would take that record anyday from my starter.

The defense had Reis confused all day, against a team with one of the worst pass defense in the nation. I felt (and said in a thread) before the first game that neither Crist or Reis could run Kelly's offense, and that we should go with either Golson or Hendrecks so we could use the read-option which is a major reason the spread offense works. (One of the observations Meyers made during the game.)
When the announcers said that when they were doubling Floyd, we were at the advantage because we had ten against their nine. Not so. It was nine against nine.
It reminds me of the mistake Holtz made in his selection of QBs which I think cost him two NCs.
Maybe Reis is so good in practice because our defense doesn't confuse him, or perhaps our DBs aren't as good as we thought.
When the QBs read is first option and the second option is throw it away we are in trouble.

Give it up, guys. It's Rees or Crist from here on out. Kelly is not going to throw an inexperienced quarterback in the fire when we still have a reasonable chance at making a good bowl game.

Well, I was answering the question posed to me. Just like I will now answer your question.

Below average in comparison to what? Yes he has had too many turnovers but this was his first head scratching game. I would say Tommy has played average this year. Do we need him to play better, of course we do but he is not the reason we have 2 losses.

Tommy would be undefeated as a starter had the defense not imploded in the 4th quarter at Michigan. Yes, Tommy had some turnovers again, but when it mattered he made the game winning drive like he did today.

Does he have a turnover problem? Yes, but that happens when you have a true sophomore playing. He'll improve, and if he gets the turnovers down we'll be in good position for next year when the Lynch and company are taking over.

If he didn't turn the ball of the defense wouldn't have been in that position right YES

Woah..... What??? The defense has a ball and what about your position? Is this a cry for help? Lassie, go for help. The FF's trapped in the well and is muttering incoherent things.

And actually if we had a good corner instead on Gary Grey that ball would have been knocked down. But then again we are talking about Gary. Not to mention none of this matter Kelly is going to stay with Rees

Theres no way Hendy and Golson could play nearly as well as Rees or Crist. Inexperience is one thing, but neither of them are on a talent level YET to be a starting QB in the FBS. i like both of them don't get me wrong, Golson needs to keep a year of eligibility. If theres a QB change is should be Crist in my honest opinion, and i thought it should've happened after halftime today... Hell, they could even put in Mulvey, at least he knows the playbook lol

YOu guys, you guys. Let's just trade for Robert Griffin.
Seriously check out this stat: in two and a half games, he has 12 tds and 12 incompletions.

You don't know that, so its an absurd thing to say. We've never seen either in game situation, so we have no idea, neither do you, and neither does BK. Sometimes guys are sh!t in practice, but get on the field and are just magic. Others are workout warriors but can't bring it on game day. But you don't know until they get in a game.

This thread needs to be closed just because we all know that Kelly is going to stay with Rees. He won't swallow his pride and put Crist back in
