and it did not really change all that much. Though the Germans never again risked their fleet.

now as regards Naval Warfare, it did cause some serious looks at a number of things
The British Battlecruisers blowing up one after another was the greatest scandal to come out of it

Not a D-Day story, but my grandfather was killed in the Ukraine by German soldiers. They took my grandmother, then pregnant with my father back to Germany to a work camp.
He was born on March 26, 1945 in a German labor camp and luckily, they were liberated a few weeks later. Unfortunately, they had mo way to make it back home so my father was raised in Germany until the early 1960's. St Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic church in Chicago was searching for refugees from the war and brought them on a ship to Ellis Island and then relocated them to Chicago.

My grandmother stayed in Ukrainian Village until 2013 and was eternally grateful to America and the church for saving them.

I never knew this. Thanks. I've been to Gettysburg. It's an amazing experience. When you look around at the battlefield, it just seems like normal farmland and it's hard to envision the violence and bloodshed that took place there.
