My entire family was jumping up and down screaming. And then it got called back. We all felt like crying. It still bums me out to think about it. Thanks TDHeysus!

borderline call at best.... from the view of the official that threw the flag it probably looked like a clip. the puzzling thing is the official with the best view left the yellow in his pocket. heartbreaker is all i can say...

I was 9 years old at the time, but I distinctly remember it to this day. It was a horrible call. I wanted to write a letter to the NCAA asking them to reverse the decision and give the game to us.

I have dropped this before but what the hell... for some reason my dad grew up in the 70's liking the Buffs, I think it was b/c they were the only school that gave him the time of day recruiting wise but he has never admitted that...


anyway, I am all of ten years old and already a DIE HARD irish fan... that moment will live on forever, I am screaming jumping up and down behind our old orange couch and my dad smiles and says "Flag on the field"....

its funny how alot of ppl had the same reaction - I was laying down on my couch, under a blanket (I believe the orange bowl was a late start game) and literally jumped off the counch and was jumping up and down. Then the penalty.....A friend of mine happened to stop by the house at the time and noticed that I was completely out of breath from jumping up and down and screaming.

But, the reaction to his punt return (b4 the penalty), and the exhilration I felt is why I love Notre Dame. No other sporting team, in pro or college, or any other sports makes me jump off a couch, and jump and down until I am out of breath like Notre Dame football does.

Same here, I actually like Baseball much more than football in general, but LOVE college football and nothing in sports means more than Notre Dame to me... I love my Penguins and Angels.... A LOT... but only Notre Dame can impact on that level
