I am interested in seeing what everyone thinks (and why) the QB situation will be over the next few years with the current roster/committed/returning from suspension QBS. I am really excited as there seems to be so much talent that I am not only excited for 2014 but the next 3+ years beyond that are shaping up great as well. Here is what I envision:

2014 - Golson makes a triumphant return. I do think Zaire will pop onto the radar at this point by showing increasing flashes of his ability, especially as he plays some minutes in garbage time. I'd like to think that if Golson went down with an injury for a length of time that he would still be able to manage and put ND in a position to win games. I think Golson goes pro if he plays a full season in 2014.

2015/2016 - The Malik Zaire Era begins in 2015 and continues through 2016 along a similar track to Golson's 2 years of starting. I can also see him being even better than Golson by the time it is all said and done. Barnett will be on campus in 2015, will be quickly fitted for his winter long coat, but will then start to pop in 2016 much like Zaire will in 2014. Lost in the shuffle unfortunately is Kizer. I can see him being a solid #2 to Zaire but not playing many meaningful minutes outside of an injury. 2015/2016 will also be exciting to watch IMO as the current young crop of WRs/TEs will be hitting their stride. Zaire has his degree and goes pro after 2016 IMO.

2017 - The Blake Barnett Era begins. By this point he will have had 2 years to fix his mechanical issues and will be ready to shine. I think he has the potential to be even better than Zaire.

In conclusion, I can see things just getting better and better at the QB position. We as fans have a lot to look forward to IMO. Can't wait!

I don't see either Golson or Zaire turning into big time pro prospects. Hope I'm proved wrong about that.

Haven't thought through the Kizer/Barnett debate yet. Might be too early.

I can see that too. I think I'm just telling myself they will go pro early so the talented guy behind each of them is less tempted to transfer. I just hope we as fans get to see a maximum use of the talent we have.

I have no idea what will happen w/ the QB's...but I love the options that should be available.

Starship Troopers has to be the worst movie of all time.

I thought it was terrible too, until someone explained to me that it was actually a paradoy of a WWII propoganda film. It makes total sense when you watch it like that.

I think it was greyhammer that did a somewhat in depth analysis of some of the themes in STs. As I understood it, it was a fairly rich movie and well done. Admittedly I enjoyed it regardless.

I always enjoyed how over the top the propaganda was in the movie, and the fact that is harked back to the WWII shorts before movies and such. Really well done, despite the fact it looks, on the surface, as a bad movie.

Starship Troopers actually has a lot going on behind the scenes in terms of symbolism. The symbolism isn't particularly deep, but it's hidden so well because the movie seems so consistently stupid.

Here's one of my favorite film analyst taking as hard a look at Starship Troopers as a normal person would a Kubrick film. I was pleasantly surprised.

Denise Richards and a very underrated sexpot in Dina Meyer! Didn't one of them nude up?

Casper van Dien (for Beau and TP) and an older Doogie Howser (also for Beau and TP).

What's not to love about this flick???!!!

Aside- Didn't Brandon bang Dina Meyer in 90210? Wasn't she like the older woman? A cougar before cougars really existed? Wasn't she married to his professor or something?

Help me out here Aaron and Johnny-- I know y'all DVR reruns everyday on the Soap Opera chanel.

2014 and 2015 - Golson
2016 and 2017 - Zaire
2018 - ???

Golson is 6'0", 200 and he only completed like 59% of his passes last year. That's not a pro QB.

I hate to do this but...

Russell Wilson as a RS frosh completed 54.5% of his passes at NC State for 1,955 yards and 17 TDs, 394 yards rushing 4 TDs. Everett Golson 58.8% 2,405 yards and 12 TDs, 299 yards rushing 6 TDs.

I think it's pretty crazy to think he doesn't have pro potential with his arm strength if he continues to progress.

At this point for me, it will be whoever is executing the offense the best. Who that is, who knows.

Denise Richards was a total smokeshow. Wild Things!!!!

Starship Troopers is awful. Now that said, I watched it one time, and immediately wrote it off. Casper van Dingus is the worst actor of all time. I suppose I could have missed the fact that it was a parody, but I am not willing to watch it again to find out.

Honestly, I think it goes Golson in '14 and '15, and Barnett in '16 as a RS frosh.

I think the QB situation goes as stated here. Love Barnett's upside.

Starship Troopers...Not worth watching after the co-ed shower scene. Good concept.

Similar threads in the past had the Crist era transitioning to the Hendrix era to the Kiel era. As you can see, things like this are nearly impossible to predict. I'm going to sit back and watch as a lot of talented QBs battle it out and push each other for the next few years.
