If Golson has his degree and has a high grade, he should go. I don't want him to, but life doesn't always wait for you. Take the money and run!

Also re: height... Drew Brees says hello as well.

Kizer is a superb athlete. If Wimbush comes in and is extremely impressive, any chance Kizer plays a different position?

Interesting, it would relieve the pressure a bit.

Short QB's can make it in the NFL, but they better be pretty damn good for NFL teams to consider them. Wilson took that extra year to get better at Wisconsin. As great as Brees has been, San Diego didn't believe in him even though he was performing, then Miami said no thanks. As much as Wilson, Brees, Flutie and Tarkington proved little guys can play in the NFL, GM's always gamble on the bigger QB's first, even if they don't have the stats of the little guy. Golson needs to have two solid years under his belt before he makes his decision.

Miami and SD didn't believe in Brees' shoulder, not his skill.

If Golson left, he would have pretty much the same amount of starts that Manziel had, with possibly more wins. If Golson thinks he can be drafted in the first couple rounds, then he should go, imo. You never know what can happen injury wise, and with rookie caps, there really isn't anything to gain by returning.

Don't think Golson will have his degree yet. Not sure though.

The obvious answer is a 2 QB offense. I don't mean 2 rotating, 2 on the field! lol.

I think this is correct. The factors which will keep him from being a top pick are physical limitations that aren't going away. There is plenty of room for improvement but he's probably going to max out at a mid-round pick even if he is the "best" QB in college football.

Also, I wouldn't put anything in the Russell Wilson comparisons. IMO, Golson has a significantly better arm and no NFL team is going to let him run the ball due to his size.

Everett's ceiling is probably more in the Drew Brees mold.

MZ is one play away from being a starter on this years team, or an academic investigation, or a nfl draft. Regardless if EG comes back or if MZ transfers, he will have to sit a year. If he isn't confident enough in his abilities to beat out the underclassmen of DK and BW when he's a redshirt junior then maybe it is best if he does transfer.

Everett is MILES away from being ready for the NFL .The difference in "confident grabbing the throat of the game" between him and Russell Wilson is light-years. If the NFL staffs don't see this, I'll be stunned. Any drafting of him at the end of this year would involve the unlikely combination of a "potential high ceiling" belief with a "can't see the total field instantly" fear. Plus, very often, too quick to go to the "happy feet."

Everett is admirably succeeding because he is an elite athlete, not because he is an elite game controller.

Wilson doens't really run the ball either, only as a last resort kind of thing. The way Wilson uses the run game reminds of Aaron Rodgers.

Will Wimbush even see playing time especially if he Golson comes back? Considering that he will have to wait behind Zaire, and Kizer?

But I do like the fact that ND is stacked at the QB position

I think Golson stays. If Clausen proves anything it's you get one shot as a QB in the NFL lest you wander as a journeyman. Golson has a lot to iron out in his game.

There'll be a RS Jr. Zaire vs. RS soph Kizer vs. RS freshman Wimbush vs. true frosh Henry (hopefully) QB battle. I assume it's won by Zaire. If that happens Kizer transfers or sticks around for the degree and Wimbush/Henry wait to fight it out in 2 years.

Zaire has no incentive to transfer. If he leaves he has one year to play wherever he goes as a 5th year.

God I love our QB depth.

I hear what you're saying, but if he was 6'5" I think SD would have given him the year to show he recovered.

This is what I meant by having two solid years. Lots of room for improvement, which I think he will do.

The best scenario for us is EG comes back, MZ gets a lot of clean up, BW EEs, kills it and pushes both MZ and DK. One, or two leaves in that scenario IMO.
