1. What a huge win. This team just keeps playing hard, no matter the situation. This is one of the most glaring differences between this Brian Kelly team, and many of Weis' teams; there's no quit in this team.

2. Troy Niklas got absolutely schooled, today. He couldn't block the tuba player, I don't think, if they had rushed him. Golic had a terrible game, as well. The whole O Line looked mediocre, at best.

3. Touchdown Tommy Rees says, "Eat it, suckers............... AGAIN!"

4. This team is very good, but probably not as good as we would like to think. Stanford helped us more than a couple of times, with dropped passes.

5. Manti Teo............... nothing else needs to be said about this kid. He should make all ND fans proud.

I think Tommy Rees is going to start next Saturday. The offense looks so much better when he is in, at least the passing game does.

Golson played a much, much better second half.

Our defense looked great. 6 points allowed. Nothing new of an observation.

Theo Riddick needs to move back to receiver. He could be our best WR, and it would give more carries to Atkinson and Wood who our able to break a huge run on any play.

Stephon Tuitt had a huge game.

Bennett Jackson in his first year ever playing corner has 4 picks through 6 games. If you told me this in August I would have laughed.

Niklas played horrible today.

Zeke Motta is going to be a first 3 rounds draft pick.

No roll outs please.

Man I'm absolutely drained. What a win. Defense still hasn't given up a TD. Offense came on in the 3nd half and Tommy is just the ultimate closer. Thank God for him.

Our defense may be the best in the country.

Our offense should have more points than it did. We did move the ball but couldnt get out of our own way. I think we are really good, and we are what our record is. A pouring rainy day against a fierce defense and we win.

My concern is our Oline. Mainly Golic. He hasnt been up to par all season. Luckily we wont see another front 7 like this until, dare i say it, the NC.

I dont know how you cant be happy with this win.

Golson played okay, and I understand he's young. He offers more than Tommy, but we have to question whether the turnovers and poor decisions in the passing game are worth it. There are solid arguments for both points of view, but BK will make the decision.

I said at the beginning that people were being waaaay too optimistic with expecting ten wins against this schedule, but it's not as bad as we thought at the beginning of the season. There are still two incredibly tough games away, and the risk of a let down, but this defense looks out-****ing-standing.

We helped Stanford? I coulda swore we gave them their only TD. If the QB position comes together this team is going to murder other teams. Golson had guys deep for TD's a couple times but got happy feet.

No way Tommy starts. We wont see a defense that strong until the bowl game. Let a team game plan for him and see what happens. Golson did not play that bad. He moved the ball. Penalties and fumbles killed us.

How will Golson get the experience he needs? Do you want to have a QB controversy every year? Eventually someone has to get expierience and weve come way to far with Golson to start over

If you eliminate stupid Everett turnovers we win this game going away even with how bad some people played. This was an INCREDIBLE exhibit of mental toughness by everyone on this team.

This team clearly has incredible leadership from both senior players and coaches... I am so damn proud right now of how we gutted it out after stupid fumbles, stupid penalties, stupid botched snaps, horrible field position, bad conditions, allowing a defensive TD, etc. etc. etc.

INCREDIBLE!

Look, I am one of Golson's biggest supporters, but are you trying to tell me the offense did not flow better with Rees in the game? I am not sure whose fault that is. I never said Golson played bad. Part of his shortcomings in the first half was horrible play calling aided by missed block after missed block by Niklas or Golic. His pass to Eifert was a thing of beauty. But Rees at this point is the more polished passer.

While I agree that Stanford definitely helped us with dropped passes, in my mind that's not a big issue in the respect that if ANY team plays a perfect game they will probably win... We helped Stanford out a LOT, too, but the difference is, our boys found a way to win.

1. Tommy does it again!!!!!

2. Offense was awful in the first half, but rebounded nicely post-halftime with 228 yards and 17 points.

3. Running game was much better than I expected, which isn't saying too much.

4. Tyler Eifert is a baller.

5. TJ Jones is so underrated.

6. Our defense is INCREDIBLE.

7. Matthias Farley played a great game.

8. Keivarae Russell is a tremendous tackler.

This program has come such a long way. I can't help but think of where we were when we let Stanford walk into the endzone so our offense could have a chance.

It's nice to have Tommy in a crunch, but that's the only time I want to see him. He's a great back up.

agreed. This was my biggest critique of him in his first couple games and he has come a long way,

I am so sad I had to come home yesterday and couldn't have been there.

The Good
DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!: From the captains, Te'o and Kap, to the kids, Farley and Russell, these guys made plays all day. They never quit and they won this game

The Bad
O-Line: They are here by default, I feel the played well but stupid false starts could have cost us.

The Ugly
Everett Golson: Yes, he is the future and has great talent but he played bad and should feel bad. Held onto the ball too long, fumbles, ran out of the pocket when the o-line was protecting him, didn't slide when he should have. He made plays late but still, STEP IT UP!!!!

Sometimes I feel like posters on this board don't "get out enough" meaning you don't watch anybody but ND play. If you look around and compare you would see this team is pretty damn good.. I still believe in EG. This is a great game for him to go back in the film room and learn.

Plus, through 4 quarters, Tommy wouldve gotten eaten alive by this defense.

Exactly. With the pressure and missed blocks, Rees would have been injured by the second quarter. What we have is fine. That was arguably the best defense we'll face all year.
