Well, because I love ND for starters. What have they done good? The o-line has been good, the jersey's have looked sweet, Jonas, Floyd, and Cierre have been good. Is there anything that I'm honestly missing? Lol.
Relax man, the team's 0-2 and we're all unhappy about it.
You don't have to ask people why they're on the board. Get off your high horse.
If you want to make personal attacks, take them to PMs please.
So Tommy Rees hasn't looked good? The turnovers are only one part of the equation. And, if you think about it: the TJ Jones INT was not Rees' fault. Nor, apparently, was the first INT that he threw against Michigan. Maybe someone who has the game recorded can verify this, but I'm pretty sure I'm remembering it right. After the half, ESPN showed Erin Andrews(?) interviewing Kelly on the way back out to the field. There was an audio problem, and I never heard what Kelly said to her. But I'm almost certain that I recall the announcers saying that Kelly mentioned that the TE ran the wrong route on Rees' 1st INT. The defender who made the pick dropped off of another receiver, to get the INT. I'm assuming (but I think it's a good assumption) that the TE was that receiver, and that he was supposed to clear that area out. So, had he run the right route, the defender would have been in a completely different area of the field. The guy is completing 69.8% of his passes, averaging 100+ yards passing, per QUARTER, has thrown 5 TDs in 6 quarters, and has only taken 1 sack........ you don't see that as positive?!?!?!
The defense has shown signs of being a really good defense. They haven't been able to sustain that for four quarters yet, but it's a damn sight better than we have seen in recent years. But that's not positive.
I'm not on a high horse: If you want to be critical, and use logic and statistics to support your position, I will gladly listen. But if you want to come in with "X sucks!", "Y is horrible!", and "Z blows!"........ don't expect me not to call you on it.
The thing that most concerns me in the first two games(other than the turnovers), is the lack of a pass rush. We all expected our front 7 to be able to put great pressure on QBs, this year. However, I'm also well aware that we have played two QBs that are known more for their mobility than their passing. So, I'm hoping that the defensive game plan was to not pin our ears back and rush the passer, but to allow a pocket to form, to keep the QB in that space. The next couple of games should answer that one for me.
