Weird fumbles have KILLED us in big games this decade. Think USC 2005 (Leinart fumbles out of bounds to stop the clock on the 1 yard line) and now Denard's fumbleruski.

i feel you ,but if we had more touchdowns that doesn't matter... we have to score more when we get to red zone and it's smooth sailing.

we palyed amazing all around.. some things are just chance/lucky it happens.... stopping M ON GOALINE THEY FUMBLE RIGHT TO ROBINSON thats luck...

we lost the game in 28 seconds leaving a wide open by 15 yrds reciever on the 2nd to last play...We should have rushed three and dropped the rest... there is no way Denard could have ran the ball 80 yrds in 28 seconds...

why didn't we watch the pass on that play ball on twenty we ruch and leave wide open reciever with just enough time for him to run to the twenty and stop clock...... the rest of the game was took care of...............Call the right defensive calls!!!!!!!!

if gary gray would've stayed on the wr like the play was called for.....that guy doesn't make that reception. gray bit on the receiver going toward the inside, but failed to notice that another db had the underneath throw. as soon as he bit, the receiver behind him hit the slant and was wide effin open.

i think the defensive call was correct, gray just missed his assignment.

we got screwed by the officials in that game. the line judge called leinart's forward progress and the clock ran out becuz usc didn't have any time outs. the game was over. leinart's forward progress was stopped and called, the fumble occurred right after that.

then the officials say the fumble occurred first. the funny thing is the ball rolled back toward the five and they marked it at the 1 yard line and put time back on the clock. what a joke of a game.

we should have know it was a pass i gray messed up it's on him but i think we should have just played man to man and dropped harrison..

that's what it looked like to me. gray had the man, then for some reason jumped on the inside route which he had no reason to becuz there was another db marking that guy. and harrison smith did drop, but due to the error on gray it was hard to recover/close ground.

i still can't believe that i mean that was the game right there and we knew he wasn't running for 80 yrds. if we stopped him at the 50 no way they make a field goal... next yr beat michigan..

Bottom line: it shouldn't have even come down to that one play. We didn't execute on a lot of plays that should have led to more points on the board.

Yes, there were a lot of mistakes BUT.. If the DBs turn their heads around on those three floaters, including the game winner.. it's a blowout.

To a certain extent, but Michigan didn't play anywhere near perfect either. I counted 3 interceptions that they threw.

Tommy's phantom fumble really hurts to watch too. The kid's having a solid game and that bs has to happen..

Virtually every big play by Michigan started with an underthrown lob from Robinson, an Irish DB not getting his head around, and a UM receiver catching what should have been an interception.

Let's not forget the Irish stuffing UM on the goalline and forcing a fumble. That's normally a huge play... recall what it did for USF against us in week 1. Except we're cursed, so the fumble bounces right into Shoelace's path, and he turns what should be a huge momentum swing for the Irish into a UM TD. #FML

We've now lost 5 of the last 6 games against Meatchicken; the last 3 of which have been soul-crushing. I'm seriously beginning to wonder if an evil UM fan made a deal with the devil-- no chance against OSU in exchange for endless Irish torment.

FML.

If this pattern of gameplay continues for the length of this season I may just truly believe that.

Knowing they can dominate and seeing them let these games slip, is torture. It is my nightmare.

Notre Dame & Dallas Cowboys could not be any more similar. Haven't done anything in 15 yrs, lots of talent, not mentally tough, blow leads.

I've calmed down a little since the past weekend. No, we should not fire Brian Kelly. Our offense is gaining over 500 yards per game. It's not Brian Kelly who continues to make mistake after mistake. At some point the players have to take the blame. The truth is that the team has played well enough to be 2-0. Individual players have made crucial mistakes that have cost us both games. Luck has certainly been against us.

The goal line defense stuffs the run, and the fumbled football bounces right to Denard Robinson. That is certainly not a problem with Bob Diaco and his defense. 99 times out of a hundred the ball is recovered right where it lands. Without the bad luck we recover the ball or it's 4th and 3. Bad coaching. No way. Bad defense. Not a chance. Bad luck. Definitely.

Gary Gray certainly didn't play his best game, but we can't lay it all on his shoulders. The game never should have been that close at the end. Eventually, the bounces will equal out. This team will come back. Kelly and the coaches will right the ship. Until then we need to remember that this is our team, and they need our support. Give it to them and the glory days can return. We are a much better team than our 0-2 start would indicate, and we are far superior to the teams put on the field during Weiss's final three years.

Earlier this week I predicted an MSU blowout and a 7-5 finish. I think I over-reacted to last week's loss. We will be competitive this week. A bounce or two our way will show what can happen. We are still very capable of finishing at 10-2. And if we finish at 7-5 with three more heart-breaking losses, I will suck it up and support my team just like I have done for the past 50 years.

any time you stop a team on 3rd and goal and the ball pops out and does a perfect one-hop to their QB so he can walk into the end zone........well,you know its not your night.

It will be interesting to see what shoelace is doing with his life in 5 years......judging by his television interviews and since he is too small for the NFL,I can see him having a promising career in maybe the custodial sciences or maybe the food service industry......Michigan should be ashamed for having thugs like that on their campus....I'll bet you the guy can't spell Michigan!

Some NFL team will give him a hsot and try to make him in to a WR or Punt/KO returner.

A team that wasn't mentally tough wouldn't have drove the length of the field and scored to retake the lead. This boils down to the turnovers and porous defensive backfield which was noted at the beginning of the year.
