Quick thought, they are talking about it on 4HL:

Lack of review on the Manti hit and strip returned for a TD on USC's last drive and if Rees arm was going forward on the fumble...

Two VERY close plays that were not reviewed? When they review everything in college football now? ESPN should talk about that in their write up instead of giving us no credit for the win.

asking espn to make an ND win seem credible is like asking rush limbaugh to speak positive of President Obama or asking Bill Maher to talk about the good things that come from believing in God or a Higher power....just not gonna happen.

Rees did not play good but he never got upset got to give that to him. I was starting to like wood man everytime he teaches i get scared. He needs to hold on to the ball but he did have some good runs. I think he finished that game 15 carries and what 89 yards i think. Not bad but not great.

Just be thankful that Ronald Johnson dropped the touchdown pass that would have sealed it for Usc. He's the only reason ND won last night and he's the only reason why I lost 1 Billion vbucks too dammit. Way to go Ronald Johnson. ND should send him a nice Christmas gift for that one.

Yeah, it wasn't that ND's D only gave up one touchdown to USC, and that one on a 2 yard drive. The fact that they held USC to 80 yards rushing, on 30 carries had nothing to do with it. The fact that they held USC to under 200 yards passing, on 40 attempts, had nothing to do with it, either. I'll give you that, despite all of that, 'SC was still in the game, right up until the Harrison Smith pick. But one dropped pass is not the only reason that ND won the game. And, with that, you have managed to just be dead to me again. But, in a rare fit of magnanimity, I'll leave you with one lead pipe lock: bet on Auburn, in the NCG.

Just an absolute garbage highlight package for our game on CF Final. Hughes TD, 2 USC drops, Hayseed pick. Borefest. There better be more. The washington-cal highlights were more extensive. Eff off.

You should see the local media here in So Cal. They can't say anything good about the Irish. It was just about how Ronald Johnson coughed it up on a "sure TD". I can't wait to rub it in on some SC fans for a change. Let's start another "Decade of Dominance"!

1.) Defense. Wow. Just outstanding. Mr. Rees needs to take them out to dinner or something

2.) Robert Huuuuuughes was an absolute man on that final drive.

3.) Rees is average. I hope he's not the starter next year

4.) Cierre needs to improve hanging on the frickin football, but saying that he's improved a whole lot.

5.) Ronald Jonson should t-bag Kiffin after what he said in post game

6.) I hope to hell I never have to watch a ND game on a computer again

7.) FU$C

I'm sure I could think of more. I'm just still to damn pumped

In a game that gave us many great things (and some bouts of angina), the thing I will remember most is that 4 seniors who had been ridiculed, criticized and/or forgotten much of the last few years stepped up and led us to victory.

Mr. Hughes, Harrison (I hope he comes back) and Brian Smith and Duval all made huge plays. Harrison even had the luck of the Irish on that last drop. They all hung in with this team through thick and thin and showed their class, pluck and vinegar at a time when it was needed most.

Congratulations to all of the team and the staff. Floyd and Te'o were absolute monsters tonight again. But in the end, I am happiest for these four guys. What a way to end their senior years.

GO IRISH!

i said this last year, and ill say it again. this was the first time Floyd has ever faced USC and boy did he show up. and i dont feel bad for ronald johnson dropping the ball because USC got just as lucky that Harrison Smith tripped/fell which gave him that open touchdown

I hope the Ducks get smashed by the Cam Newton express. Nevermind the fact that USC WANTED to run the ball and still only managed less than 3 yds a carry. In that case, USC should be thankful to Rees for coughing up the football FOUR times which is the only reason why they even had a chance at the end. When it's all said and done, the only thing that matters is wins and losses.

Defense Defense Defense

Hughes was a MAN today and there was no way he would be stopped in his last game against USC ever

Mike Floyd carried us the 1st half

Oline got stringer as the game went on

Brian Smith would like to thank all the haters

it's not like that's not true

It was the cherry on top. Not the lone play.

You could factor in the numerous drops before that play, including one by Brandon Carswell on that same drive where he had about 25 yards of open field without a single defender in front. Or the shoddy defense on Notre Dame's final scoring drive.

Slaughter had a good chance of making the tackle on the final drop too. But as others have said, ball was slightly behind him and there was no traction on the field at that point. It was a much harder catch to make than people thought.

I think the most charitable way to interpret what Kiffin said was that it's too bad that people are going to interpret the game as being decided by one play.
