I'll add that Michael Floyd simply doesn't care anymore. Unless there's a lockout, he's gone.

yeah.....of course it was the play calling (sarcasm).....give me a break...Crist isnt there yet and the D has been neglected for years.....it takes a while to build a team. Kelly is doing what he can with what he has. Give it a rest and let him do his thing....btw Kelly has a pretty good record against ranked teams.

I agree with this.

The only thing I didn't like was that Kelly tried to commit to the run, even though it was obvious it wasn't going to work. He realized Crist was uncomfortable and severely dumbed down the playbook to boost his confidence with simple play calls.

Are we able to do this with the offense that is run? The QB has to be the man here.

Did he tell you that he doesn't care? I would guess that he is disappointed in his role to some extent, and maybe in his QBs accuracy.

He's frustrated because he isn't getting the football. This has led to laziness and half-assed routes.

I just don't see it. People read lazy or disinterested when we lose. If we win, he looks calm an collected.

Brian Kelly has won everywhere. It takes time sometimes.

Rich Rodriguez was 3-8 in his first year at West Virginia (9-4 the next)

Kirk Ferentz was 1-10 in his first year at Iowa (3, 7, 11 wins in the next three)

Bobby Petrino was 5-7 in his first year at Arkansas (8-5 the next, currently ranked #10)

Jim Tressel was 7-5 in his first year at Ohio State (14-0 the next)

Nick Saban was 7-6 in his first year at Alabama (12-2 the next)

Lou Holtz was 5-6 in his first year at Notre Dame (followed by 8-4 and 12-0)

Bob Stoops was 7-5 in his first year at Oklahoma (13-0 the next)

Heck, Jo Pa was 5-5 in his first year at Penn State (albeit during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration)

I know...another re-post.

I'm disappointed, but we're coming back. Let's chat in another year.

Kelly is the answer, but the key is patience. We won't have a fast, aggressive defense until one of his recruiting classes begins to take precedence, and that's probably in 2013-2015 range. The key is at least one BCS appearance before then, during the Dayne Crist era.

i'm taking the patient route and hanging around this season to cheer the boys on. i don't think we are that good of a football team, but i'm sure bk's getting some talent on the recruiting trail.

today was tough to watch, but it was a glaring reality that we don't have depth at key position and our veterans have suffered under the previous regime.

go IRISH!!!!

I guess that is all we can do....good news is that I think these next three games are winable....

my thoughts immediatly go to the verbal commits we have now...hope we can hold onto them ...since they will be part of the answer.

1. Stanford is much better than I, and probably many of you, thought.

2. The front 7 on D are weak. Not individually, but as a unit. They don't "suck", they aren't "terrible", but they are weak. This trickles down to the rest of the D. The secondary cannot be expected to cover all day long, waiting for one of the front 7 to get to the QB. Our corners have surprisingly turned into very good open field tacklers.

3. It looked, to me, as if Harbaugh's plan was to get up in Crist's face early. To place that doubt in his mind, and the minds of the O-Linemen, and then sit back and cover with 7, while rushing 4. This appears to have been a great gameplan, as it worked out pretty well for them. On Crist's pick 6, it appears that he probably saw the OLB coming nearly free, and threw a horrible pass (without setting his feet at all, I might add, as if he felt like he HAD to get the ball out NOW) that sealed the game for the Cardinal.

4. You nancies should get a grip. I have alot of complaints about this team, but you are either a fan, or you aren't. You don't have to say only nice things about the team, but don't come on here whining about how you don't feel like watching ND anymore. ND is about more than wins and losses. While the wins and losses are certainly important, there are not ALL that there is to the Notre Dame mystique.

5. ShaqEvansIsGod should get his own Thread title, and stop trying to horn in on my action.

They certainly are.

We're going to kick Western Michigan's ***. That and Army are the surest wins on the schedule.

Boston College is not incredible. They're 2-1. Today they lost to a Virginia Tech team that lost to James Madison and squeaked out a win against ECU. It's on the road, but we can win.

Pittsburgh is severely one-dimensional. They can't throw because their QB sucks. If we load the box and play good man coverage with Gray, Blanton and Walls, we'll win easily. Their defense isn't that great, either.

Did you get that from Bob Davie or Ty Willingham? No. No. It was Weis right?

i didn't even notice, now you've got my curiosity going.

I didn't either, but I saw a few posts on the board. I hate Jim, so I would never shake his hand. Kelly on the other hand doesn't strike me as that type of guy. I wonder what happened.

I got it from my grandfather, ya sarcastic s.o.b. If you, or anyone else, feels like they are done with the team, then go your own way. No one here will think any less of you, but neither will any of us lose any sleep over it.
