WOW! Just WOW!

- Clausen is living up to the hype.

- For all of the bitching about Weis being a shitty coach......... he just finds ways for the offense to move the ball. Granted, they stalled in the red zone today, but that was as much Washington's defense making plays as it was ND's offense NOT making them.

- The secondary just completely laid down on that drive at the end of the first half, didn't they?

- ND's offensive line continues to play well. They are not a great unit. But, if you compare this year to last year, they are playing great.

- After the Hughes 2 pt. conversion, we ND fans can never again complain about the Bush Push

- Congratulations to the ENTIRE team, on once again playing for a full 60(+) minutes, and finding a way to win. This team has just NOT quit, this year.

Game ball to the defensive line. Talk about going from goat to hero. Ethan Johnson, Kapron Lewis Moore, and John Ryan, all had monster games. They showed the heart, effort, and effectiveness that we all have hoped that they were capable of.

Shouldve had at least 8 more points on touchdowns versus field goals - at least. But Im glad CW didnt get antsy on 4th and goal from the 5 or 6 a few times and get us no points. he is getting more patient as a coach and it is getting us these close wins. My hats off to Weis today. The defense was very good too.

He was dragged across the goal line but look down at the bottom of the pile his knee is down around the 2 or 3 yd line before the final push that got him over. The refs had no way of seeing the play. The Bush Push and the out of bounds prior were both visible to the refs and both bad calls.

Agree with the bush push. I think they picked up the flag on that one cause of how crazy the fans would have gotten and cause they couldnt call it on all 5 linemen lol

I think the D came through when they needed to but still too many 3rd down conversion especially on 3rd and long. Our DB's need to play the ball alot more. UW dropped alot of passes. We did come up huge at the goal line. I think the D will gain some confidence from those stands.

By the way.............if you are a Washington fan, you think you might be screaming about the TD that got called back? I have to admit, I don't know how they saw conclusive proof that the ball was not over the goal line, when that kid's knee hit the ground.

Let's not leave Weis out of the mix, here. Remember that everyone in college football knew that we would be trying to get the ball to Tate. There's no doubt that Washington came in with a scheme to take Tate out of the game. But CW found a way to get Tate into spaces where he was open. Then, Tate made everything he possibly could out of those opportunities.

I can't believe how many times Clausen was close to being grasped and just shifted inches and held his ground while avoiding the grasp. I usually see the pros do that effecti vely. Clausen didn't have those moves or awareness last year. Nice, very nice.

Its not that they can't coach. Clearly there is nothing wrong with the offense. My whole gripe was Charlies game management. Today he showed just how important it is that you kick those FGs and not try 4th and shorts every time.

How many game balls can you give the defense for stuffing Washington for 7 downs at your 1 yard line? Bullshit personal foul call on Williams almost let this game slip out.

If Clausen isn't the front runner right now for the Heisman, I don't know who else could be, well I do but he is on the sideline with a broken collar bone. Jimmy's new last names are James Money and Jim Heisman.

If the defense can just string some tackles together, suddenly those 3rd and whatevers become game clinchers.

LOL!! We did win right?? Post like this convince me that there are still people out there rooting for this team to fail. It's a shame. Weis showed growth today by kicking FGs instead of going for it on 4th and short. Washington gave LSU a tough game and beat USC. Last year has NO bearing on this year. I admit the tackling was atrocious in the 2nd half, but all this bellyaching over a WIN is comical. If I torch a team for 244 yds, I'm talking too. I'll give you that the DBs aren't playing well though. Darrin Walls has reeked of burnt bacon the past 4 weeks. Idk why he's still starting. Anyway, I see why people hate ND fans. ND hasn't done anything worth talking about in almost 20 years. It's not going to happen overnight. 4-1 ain't bad though. I'll take it. Go Irish!!!

The defensive front was amazing when the knew a run was coming. They just get fooled a little to easy.

Clausen was absolutely amazing today! How many times should they have sacked him and he sidestepped for more time then completed a long pass!

Nothing you can say about Tate really other than WOW!!!!!!!

We still need to use Kyle more! Any goalline pass should go to him on a jump ball. No LB or Safety can get higher, the guy had 600 rebounds in HS!! And I am sure every guy on the opposing team was shorter than him like every LB and DB in the country are now!

Would like to see the LBs hit home a few more times on the rush but were all in all effective today.

Tackling was atrocious today. To many guys trying to make the big hit and not wrapping up. They should definately work on the in practice.

On 4th and 3, why are the CBs playing 8 or 9 yards off the WRs? That goes for any short yardage situation. Play them tight and let the safeties help over the top.

Claussen is becoming ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! He's already great, but he is becoming an ELITE player!!

The DLINE deserves so much credit!!! They stopped UW on 9 plays from the 4 call line!!! That fucking bullshit on the FG pissed me off so much, I threw my hat and hit my little girl, I felt soooooo bad for her!!! but seriously, that was absolutley one of the worst penalties I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! WTF are you supposed to do to try and block the kick, GREAT FUCKING JOB DEFENSE!!!

I love Golden!! He is absolutely amazing in the YAC category. I can understand why some people get upset at his antics sometimes, but as long as he isnt called for a personal foul, I DONT GIVE A SHIT!!! I did find myself yelling at him thru the TV on one play where he just posed with his hands on his hips right in front of two UW players, and the refs right there, I thought he was gonna get called for the PF, but he didnt, SO I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!

Weis impressed me today. There were so many opportunities for him to make mistakes, and I think he stuck in there and made the right decisions throughout the game.

The heart that this team has shown is what makes this seaon so memorable right now. We are 11 seconds and two BULLSHIT calls from the refs of being undefeated, and I just couldnt be more proud of how this team just persevere's week in and week out.

The USC game is going to be tough!!! Wear the BLUE AND GOLD, and leave the green jerseys alone. I love them, but have very bad memories. We have two weeks to prepare, and should give us plenty of time to heal up and develop a sound game plan. I want this WIN more than anything this year!! I know we have the offensive firepower, although Floyd would be so much more beautiful, but the defense needs to have a coming out party. They have stepped up the last couple weeks in bursts, but I WANT A FULL GAME FROM THEM!!! THis week may have been the confidence boost they needed.

It was a good win today...team never quit. I am VERY concerned about the defense not being able to stop people. There was a lot of shoddy tackling today. The goal line stands were excellent but I wonder why they let Washington march the ball down there is the first place. It gets very frustrating to watch a team drive the ball down the field on the first series of every game. Is the defense prepared for the opposition?
CW has an excellent offensive mind. This offense would really be clicking even more if Floyd hadn't gotten hurt. He did a fantastic job in moving Tate around. he is a true gamebreaker.
I think that until ND gets a much more consistant defense they will have trouble against the top teams......and the one thing I want is a National Championship!

I love to agree with you on todays game. I was so disappointed watching us settle for 3 points when we have so much talent to put up at least 35 to 40 points on any defense in the country.

The defense did awesome today, I have never seen so many goal line stands in a game before. Hats off to them. But just like it was said above, the DB's are horrible!!! I would like to see someone make a play besides Kyle McCarthy.

I would not say we are an average team I just think we are playing to the level of the competition. Its sad to see a team with such high praise and hope play to the likes of average teams.

I would also agree that CW is not the right man for the JOB. I love his recruiting but I'm not in love with his coaching.

One last question... How much BS was that Personal Foul for roughing the snapper. What a crap call. I have seen all the games this season and that is top 5 in the BS category.

I dont have a problem with it whatsoever unless it costs us a penalty. It really just depends on the crew, and based off of what I've seen this year, I dont really like our chances on not getting called. I love the emotion, hell I had the cops called on me by neighbors cause they thought I was fighting with my wife during the Michigan game cause of my emotion. But as soon as the cops came, I was able to tone it down, even though I right when they were here was when Tate Forcier broke Darius Flemming ankles on the TD run on 4th down!! Thats all I'm saying, just be smart about it.

Clausen confirmed what we have seen every week...continued playing at a high level, consistant from week to week.

The offensive line...i'm almost starting to believe; as in, im almost coming to expect them to play well every week now.

The defense....from the 10 to the 10 yard line, they cant stop Fontana High School. But at the goalline, they look like the 85 bears...wtf? (makes me think that was a result of UW play calling..what did they do different at the goalline? whatever they did, it didnt work for them)

This was a good win, going into a bye week with Pete the Cheat and his crew of misfits coming to town in 2weeks.

The hands on the hips and the stance while lingering over the defender was a taunt. You don't have to vocalized.

For those complaining about ND fans mentioning it, recogonize that the first week of the season announcers mentioned the change in regulations and that the NCAA has stress the purpose was to encourage sportsmanship and minimize or eliminate the trash talk and taunts. They stressed the refs were told to call it tight.

The fact that you may have cut your teeth with Vince McMahon and think it's cool is irrelevant. The refs across the country called taunting a bunch of times across the natino on Saturday.

Tate can get his jolly's handing the ball to the end zone after he crosses the goal line.
