1. We are not a very good football team. Although we have some pretty good football players. They deserve more than they are getting, this falls squarely on CBK.
2. It is not ok, at all, for officials to miss obvious penalties in games, there needs to be more accountability for poor officiating. Accountability is the only thing that insures fairness. Personal integrity is not enough in this environment, refs need to know that their job depends on it.
3. From the beginning there has been an arrogance with regard to play calls, in game decisions and coaching hires that is starting to ruin CBK's tenure. Jack Swarbrick needs to stop offering extensions, and make it clear that competence is more important than familiarity.
4. Our strength and conditioning program is absolutely sub par and is failing our student athletes. Our coaching of fundamentals and development of technique is way behind other programs and in short order the talent will begin to see that.
5. Hard to ask guys to stick around and complete their eligibility when they know that they are not being developed physically or technically.
6. I do believe with the changing landscape of major college football, there are some systemic, institutional, issues that will force all of us to change our expectations of what our football program will accomplish year in and year out.
7. With the exception of Coaches Hiestand, Sanford, Denson, maybe Denbrock and Elston as a recruiting coordinator everyone else seems to be in over their head.
8. Defense STILL wins football games.

The team was uninspired
Offense lacks identity, perhaps the lingering effects of the quarterback derby
Defense is going backwards
Fundamentals especially on D are poor.
No consistency (except lack of pass rush and defensive backs out of position)

Could that be due to the zone blocking scheming fisB

I disagree, we simply didnt put them in a position to succeed, we barely ran our must successful plays. We pretty much just did dives into the teeth of their defense, no Qb powers, 1 qb draw, didn't see a single midline, didnt' see any counter treys, what were we doing?

My problem is that they're not that young and inexperienced for how bad they'rep laying. Nelson has been bad, Mustipher has been bad, McGovern has been TERRIBLE (and he has 4 years in the system), and Bars has been a HUGE disappointment on the outside. We only have one OL that is even playing competently right now. The guys on the inside have no power in the run game besides Nelson. We recruit nothing but 4 and 5 star players on the OL and we have 3 out of 5 playing below average football? Despite years of grooming? Not good.

Agree, we all knew the defense would be a liability this year, but outside of QB the OL was supposed to be the strength of our team, and thus far we haven't even been able to just line up and pound the left side either. The majority of the running game is very slow developing plays as well which requires more of a push and for linemen to sustain there blocks which is not happening right now.

All of the players interviewed said to a person that "they (Michigan State) did exactly what we expected".

I mean ya, they did power-o power-o power-o counter and playaction. Besides a little option and playaction that was about it

Felt just like 2011 USC. BVG and Gilmore can go anytime. Take Longo with them. Can't believe our offense couldn't sustain drives. Crowd never really had a chance to get into the game because the team, specifically defense, didn't get them a reason to.

The KR for a TD called back, muffed punt, fumble, interception, constantly running between the tackles on 2nd and long, poor defensive scheme and tackling all killed us. We were the better team on the field last night but we screwed ourselves into our second loss. I'm not re-watching this game nor excited to watch the rest of the season. I will of course but I'm bummed right out. BVG has to go or I won't ever feel confident in this team again ever

With two losses on the season already here is my thoughts. I see 2-3 more losses on the schedule. Stanford is a loss, USC, Duke, Miami, Virginia tech could all be losses. All we are playing for now is a bowl game. Play the young guys and get them involved. Let them learn from their
Mistakes and take this as a rebuilding year. At this rate I don't see anyone on our roster worthy of leaving early for the NFL. Mcglinchey, Nelson, Folston, Kizer, all need to come back next year. Chase claypool is gonna be a night mare WR we need to
Get this kid more touches. Claypool, Stepherson, Hunter jr, sanders, Boykin, st brown will be nasty next year. Does anybody know if Javon McKinley has played yet this year?! We are a young team let these kids learn and next year watch out

We gave up more yards and points to Michigan State than FURMAN.

This shouldn't surprise folks, we've been hanging records under BVG, just not of the good kind. NW was the same story. But we were injured, so it's ok, right......

Guy doesn't coach players, he tells them what to do. Defense wasn't the fault for the loss, necessarily, but it still sucks. Shocker.

I don't want to overreact (but I am to some degree) but this has collapse written all over it. Changes are needed now, that was a fucking joke.

I'd also count Navy and Army as possible loses.

I do agree let the young more talented players play and get experience.

Daelin Hayes should be starting at WDE. The kid is a super athlete. I don't like him 30 yards down the field in coverage, but damn he looked good doing that. I want to see him line up and play in the backfield. Don't waste Hayes like they wasted Morgan for two years.

Or wasted Jaylon Smith for 2 years. We've been wasting talent for awhile now.

He was an insane talent, he won the Butkus award because of that, not how he was coached, FWIW.

I'd like to give something more but this is simply a poorly coached team.

We ranked #9 in team talent per the 247 composite, and #6 if you put our 81, versus all the other 81. Kelly said these are our guys and we need to do better, shocker, you just now realized that. Should've been better for a long time now. This is remedial coaching and BS performance.

Is Kareem redshirting this year anybody know? And daelin Hayes needs to be starting and okwara needs to be playing a ton more
Both are the two best options we have at getting to the QB right now. Jay Hayes looked good at times last night too. Don't give me this excuse daelin Hayes needs to bulk up and stuff the kid is the perfect weight u don't need to be 6'4 290 pounds to play DE 6'4 240 is perfect

McKinley and Kareem(he got the roughing call ) played against Nevada. So far Claypool, Stepherson, McKinley, Daelin, Kareem, Okwara, Jamir Jones, Julian Love, Donte Vaughn, Devin studstill, Jalen Elliott, and Spencer Perry have all seen the field to some degree this season. Play them all for the remainder of the season. Okwara, Kareem, and Daelin have shown flashes to get in the backfield. The three of them could at least give us some pressure. Let them develop

I just think the world of Daelin Hayes. He needs to be the starting WDE.

Also, maybe Spencer Perry could replace Drue.

The D is dreadful. They gave up TDs on 9 of 10 trips into the redzone during the Texas and MSU games. That's pathetic.

Just a poorly coached team all around. Reminds me of the last couple of Weis team, with BVG playing the role of Tenuta. We probably win 7 this year, maybe 8.

I love Drue as a human, but gosh he's regressed. Shocking fact of this defense is players actually getting worse. Injury might play a role or fundamental coaching
