Great win and a fantastic way to tell scUM to Fock off.

1. The difference between Golson in '12 and now is remarkable. He is seeing everything and making the right calls.
2. I mentioned in the fall camp thread that I thought Carlisle was going to be a difference maker this year. Looks like he is coming through.
3. The speed of the team on both sides of the ball is much faster than last year.
4. These freshmen aren't afraid to play.
5. Ending the series with a shutout, sweet.
6. FOCK MICHIGAN!

UM looked bad. That's my observation. Oh and Everett looked like a player tonight.

I feel like we will never see a time management issue like we saw with Golson ever again. Sometime you need chips to fall your way in order to shake nerves---if the chips fall the wrong way, you're screwed for career. Tonight, they fell his way and we are good from here on out.

I can easily see Notre Dame being undefeated going into the Florida State game. Great speed on defense, Carlisle was playing on another planet and Golson was on the money tonight. My concerns this game were the time management issues in the beginning, drops and the run game.

It was pretty amazing all around.

The defensive performance however, was particularly impressive. Van Gorder's scheme is aggressive, Gardner was kept off balance. The entire def backfield was aggressive in coverage and almost flawless tackling. The d-line absolutely destroyed Mich. at the line of scrimmage and the linebackers were superb. Not one of the guys who got into the game didn't do the job...and there were many freshmen who played and played very well. All this with Colinsworth, Russell and Williams out of the lineup=WOW!

BVG and the D played fantastic. Safety play was really solid. Farley had a great play early. Jaylon was all over the place. Riggs and Cole were on. Golson picked it up and played well overall. RBs did not do much-although they were really only called on toward the end. Great game-great ending. Extreme satisfaction!

Not to mention...you have to be excited about what this program will look like in a couple of years. How many freshmen played tonight?

Lots of great play deserving mention but Shumate looked like an all-american at times out there. Hard to believe he was possibly third string (behind Collinsworth and Hardy) a month ago.
