our best kicker missed the biggest FG I remember.

We would have scored multiple times if Carl hit that one fieldgoal. Worst case tied.

-The whole teams will not to Give up should earn a lot of respect.
-The defense was ok (i think they had some good games and we raised our expectations)
-Until Golson is electric. Good arm, good running Qb,Terrible turnovers. I know it happens to Every QB out there some learn and some don't.
-Wish we could have run the ball better.
-Jaylon is a monster but he has had some bad games.
-Morgan had a rough first half but came back around in the 2nd
-I think an unsung hero on the Defense is Farely. He has come up with some be sacks and ints.
-Should be a nice rough week of practice.

Amen to that.

Notre Dame fans have done a 180. Went from talking about the past non-stop, to blathering on about the future non-stop. Never the present....

On that note, I'm gonna go watch some classic dvds from when ND could win big games...

Lost handily on both lines of scrimmage, didn't tackle well, and turned it over repeatedly. Kelly can say whatever he wants but they didn't show up to play in the first half. Pretty disappointed to see that in our big chance to prove that we were deserving of playoff consideration. I think we confirmed many of the doubts the committee had. We have a lot of potential but we can't play like that and expect to consistently compete with quality football teams. Might work against Syracuse not so much at ASU.

My observations:

- OL didn't do the job today. 7 sacks is unacceptable.

- I don't care if Golson threw for 600 yards. 5 turnovers can't happen.

- Up to the point where ND got the game back to 34-31, the defense was only on the hook for for 13 of those points. Very good effort. A little bend/don't break on the run, but they stood tall when needed.

- Devon Butler let receivers behind him 3 times in the first half. Luckily got away with 2 of them on underthrows and the third went for a TD. Disagree with another post that he played a good game.

- Cam did great in Pass protection. But seems like we are tipping our hand now when he comes into the game.

- Not sure I agree with the all out anger with Graham and running up the score. ND gave them the ball on the last drive on the 10 yard line with about 3 minutes in the game. Can't take a knee there. The last TD was the dagger in the heart that we are all calling for when ND can't put teams away.

- Thought Fuller had a nice bounce back game after getting called out by Kelly in the weekly presser.

- All of the picks that Golson threw were on tips. Granted he can't keep getting the ball swatted by the D line man, but the C-Rob pick was a fluke.

The first pick of the 2nd half, the one on the goal line, was just a terrible pass. Still not sure who he was trying to get the ball to on that one. I find it hard to believe he underthrew the receiver in the back of the end zone that badly.

He was getting crushed from behind as he released it.

I think Golson got hit as he threw there. My mistake...not a tip. Even though they were mostly tipped I'm not saying they are not on him. The only one not on him may be the C-Rob pick. And C-Rob trying to make a play. Just a bad bounce.

He got hit just after he threw. It was just a terrible pass, unless it was supposed to be to Carlisle, who looked like he might have quit running his route a little early.

Not going to add much, but props to Butler for playing a pretty damn good game overall. Also Cam/Folston/Golson for battling even though it wasn't their best games.
Did you watch the game? Butler sucked.

Look on the bright side, this team's very talented but young and makes mental mistakes. Physically, we're a top 10 team, or will be in 2015 no doubt. And we have the rest of this year to make mistakes and make a run for next year.

We can still win 10 games and finish with a bang at USC.

And we can root for MSU to fuck up OSU, lol.

Physically? You are out of your mind. We were not physical in the first half at all. Nyles will be a stud, but dove on the ground too much. Missed too many tackles.
D-line up the middle was weak, and we gave up 50 some points. I quit counting...

I agree we will be physical next year, and that we can still win 10 games. But the first half hurt me a lot

Golson isn't that great at running the read option. He damn near never pulls it even with nothing but green infront of him.

Honestly? I would rather have the running back barely make it back to the line of scrimmage, as opposed to Golson keeping it for 12 yards and then fumbling it.

That all happened because of koyack! Ben should never have his hand in the dirt....he is a total liability out there unless the ball is thrown to him!

Watch the play...even though his man is back side...he literally makes no contact with his man and forces golson to make that throw. Ben make me want to puke!

He definitely was getting smashed during the release.

When I saw the replay I thought it was going to the receiver in the back of the end zone also because he was open. I'll have to take another look. If the hit was after the trhow, then damn it was awful.

EG had 2 fumbles. One was on a spin because he doesn't prtoect the ball. The other because he tried to use ball as a way to keep him up. Getting so tired of his lack of ball protection. Don't care about the INTs, they were tipped. But the fumbles is inexcusable.

One last point...time for a new FG holder. #99 has one job. If you can't do it, time to move on. Almost cost ND the Stanford game and today's muff was a good snap. Just a pressure situation where he didn't come through. Gloves won't cure that.

We outgained FSU 473 to 323 and ASU 481 to 414.

I don't think we're at a physical disadvantage against these two top 10 teams.

Yes, and no. The real tale of the tape is YPC, which was a respectable 4.5 against FSU, but a paltry 1.1 against ASU.

41 total rushing yards and a butt ton of passing yards doesn't exactly show physical prowess IMO.
