Wow. If this is a '10', that's the reason. It's not just going to take down a program, but discredit the NCAA.

Yea, that's true. Anything discrediting the NCAA is great. I hate them a Their arrogance. I'd agree with a 10 from that perspective.

Everywhere else on the web is in agreement that this is the 10 simply because of the fact that Cam getting busted would surprise absolutely no one. The 10 was supposed to be a shocker.

This is not good for the Irish, btw. Will likely have a negative impact on our upcoming schedules.

Why? Miami's been garbage for the past decade and that wasn't going to change. I'm too excited about news like this to see how it affects Notre Dame in the most minor way possible. I guess we'll need a new team to play at Soldier Field though...

That's exactly my point. Our big neutral site game for 2012 is now in jeopardy, as well as the home-and-home in later seasons.

Ideally, Miami would have been on the rise under Golden, but still a bit behind ND, providing us with wins against a quality high-profile opponent. No longer =/

It'd be better for ND to get a scrubby team instead of Miami for 2012. Our schedule is already tough enough.

Guys.... Miami is NOT going down hard for a similar reason to why OSU did not go down hard. Paul Dee is the freaking CHAIR of the NCAA CoI. If he hits Miami hard, he's effectively saying that he personally had a Failure to Monitor or Lack of Institutional Control while he was the AD at Miami. simply will not happen.

And even if he recuses himself (if it makes it that far), I'm pretty damn sure none of he underlings are going to try to stick it to their boss. The game is rigged. USC just wasn't smart enough to have a guy on the inside.

I seriously doubt Miami gets the death penalty. The NCAA has made it plenty clear that they never want to hand that down to a school again after what happened to SMU, and as bad as this is it's nowhere near as bad as what was going on in Dallas back then (although this is still very scandalous). Miami will still field a football team in 2012, but they are going to get hammered with enough sanctions that will make for an easy win in Soldier Field. It won't be the high profile game that it was projected to be, but our schedule that year was tough enough.

Even if Cams bag man is revealed that pails in comparison to the severity and scope of these Miami allegations. While they haven't been very good recently they are still considered a high profile program. I mean this stuff is worse then SMU. He freaking paid for one players girlfriend to get an abortion.

I agree Dee should be fired immediately.

Paul Dee needs to be fired immediately.

How does he not lose his job over this? What little credibility the NCAA has left is hanging by a thread. If he doesn't resign, this will be yet another impetus to remove CFB from the NCAA altogether.

If the NCAA had a pair, they would suspend a whole program for a year if at anytime a major infraction is caught. Of course, I know that will never happen because of money. But the way you stop something is to have a punishment that actually hurts.

So true. In the words of Ari Gold:

And I now know what I'm doing tonight: trolling USC boards. #schadenfreude #delicious

As a side note, Stewart Mandel of SI is reporting that Purdue won't be able to play Marve now. What little hope they had of beating us just got slimmer.

Miami players getting impermissable benefits, even on a mammoth scale, is a shocker?

In 100 hours of jailhouse interviews during Yahoo! Sports’ 11-month investigation, Hurricanes booster Nevin Shapiro described a sustained, eight-year run of rampant NCAA rule-breaking, some of it with the knowledge or direct participation of at least seven coaches from the Miami football and basketball programs. At a cost that Shapiro estimates in the millions of dollars, he said his benefits to athletes included but were not limited to cash, prostitutes, entertainment in his multimillion-dollar homes and yacht, paid trips to high-end restaurants and nightclubs, jewelry, bounties for on-field play (including bounties for injuring opposing players), travel and, on one occasion, an abortion

Good God.

Miami is absolutely ****ed.

And the on-field bounties were around in the glory days of the U. In the U documentary, someone mentioned a $1,000 prize for whoever knocked Rocket Ismail out of the game.

Wow. Just wow. They are in the deepest **** I've ever seen. They paid for an abortion... and there's no reason not to believe this guy because the evidence adds up.

I absolutely love Yahoo Sports! They do legit research and don't release a story until there is evidence. Quite different from ESpin.

I just checked dictionary.com and they already removed the definition of hypocrite from the site.

It now just says, "Paul Dee."

It's absolutely fantastic work by the Yahoo reporter. There is a page for each individual accused and a list of things that Shapiro provided to each one complete with pics and in some cases receipts and cell phone records.

Give this guy a raise
