I'm confused... Stovall was awesome for a year or two right? Are you saying he was a Deion Walker earlier in his career? I guess I didn't follow ND closely enough back then to know he went from not being on the two deep to being a pretty high NFL draft pick.

Stovall had one good year, his senior year. Highly touted recruit who struggled on the field and lost PT to several lesser recruits (based on recruiting rankings of course). What i am saying is a coach doesn't just give up on a player, because you never know.

I didn't hear Coach hint that a QB would have a position switch, but I'll trust you guys since everyone's now talking about it. It just about HAS to be Massa doesn't it?? Can't be Dayne with all his injuries; can't be Tommy [he's not really athletic enough is he?, and he's either the starter or our insurance policy]; can't imagine it's Andrew with all the superlatives; and I assume that no one would be changing Everett before we even see him. Luke must be the guy, and he must be a very good general athlete---I wouldn't doubt this a bit. Question is: shift to where?? Can he play DB? Can he run [i.e. go to slot]? Anyone know more about Luke's past versatility??

When he was recruited, I remember him being mentioned as a great athelete. It's gotta be Massa.

I have memory for ****e, but I could swear he had a mediocre season the year before his senior campaign. He had a few TDs his freshman and sophmore seasons, but had the dropsies, and was in the doghous for half the season before his senior year.

That's much better than the non-existent Walker so far.

I really hope Deion catches on and makes a big jump this year, but I believe he and Stovall are a poor comparison.

Just my piece.

Besides the much discussed Theo to RB and potential QB depth shake down and the resulting position changes/transfers, Kelly also mentioned WR to DB and Offensive linemen moving around (LT-RT and tackles to guards/center). It sounded vague but the first name I thought of was Collinsworth at safety.

Just wanted to throw that out there...

I personally think Collinsworth would be more valuable and effective on this team as a safety and special teams player then wide receiver, especially if Riddick stays in the slot. I love his tough, hard nosed attitude and he seems highly coachable.
