You see, there is no actual Republican policy positions that aren't made without it just being "what's the opposite of the otherside". I'm really really curious on what the Republican solution to reducing homelessness numbers is. Housing them? Nooooo what if someone wants to use a hotel! Feeding them? Nah food prices are already too high! Educating them? I'm not paying for that!

Also - I am more than comfortable in knowing of monetary support to organizations in NYC/DC who provide immigrants with support. Worked with a prominent news org in my own city to assist our own governments failures in dropping them off at homeless shelter with no help to giving them shelter. So, maybe for those suggesting they would pay for a trip I can give some good organizations that provide support to either homeless or immigrants instead. For our Turtle friend "Sloth" who thinks we only advocate for others money to be spent I'll gladly match any donation you make to a foundation supporting immigrant assistance.

Well to be fair he made a deal with the house Dems and Biden and then reneged on it which partially caused the potential shutdown and then he went out and blames it all on the Dems…. Lol. Hakeem whipped the entire Dem caucus into supporting his ouster. I don’t blame them one bit. He has pretty much been a terribly weak and duplicitous speaker since he was elected. He was unable to control the MAGA crazies, pissed off and backstabbed Dems, and undermined normal GOP members all at the same time.

It’s not a stretch to say that nothing like this has happened before in our democracy. There is more going on than normal and it seems to be internal to the GOP but hey both sides something something.

Haven't paid a ton of attention, but wasn't that what McCarthy did? Didn't he buck the freedom caucus and made a deal to avoid a shutdown, risking his own future as speaker? Wouldn't the fact that the Dem's helped oust McCarthy decrease the chances of the next Republican speaker making a deal? It seems like the Dem's chose political chaos over maintaining a speaker that was at least pragmatic enough to recognize a deal needed to be made? Do the Dem's think that the Republicans will really nominate a moderate to lead the House?
